Chapter 314·
Sean exclaimed, “Ever since you stopped responding to me, I had another matchmaking event. I reached out to Lucy through the game. You ignoring me is one thing, but then you had Lucy come here, and now my mom’s involved!”
The more he spoke, the angrier he got.
If Lucy hadn’t been caught last time, Sean might’ve denied everything and dismissed Xanthe as just an accomplice.
With thirty thousand a day, he could have fun in Crescentville without a care.
Xanthe was completely taken aback by Sean’s accusations. “I blocked your messages; I had no idea you were being set up!” Sean furrowed his brow, as if realizing something. He coldly scoffed, “Lucy didn’t tell you–she came here on her own!”
Xanthe clenched her fists, now understanding that Lucy acted independently.
Xanthe thought, ‘But why? Lucy doesn’t even know Sean; why would she help him?‘
Seeing Xanthe’s expression, Sean coolly remarked, “Lucy isn’t as innocent as you think.”
Xanthe’s demeanor darkened, and she pressed her lips together.
Sean said, “You can handle your own affairs; just remember to unblock me.”
With that, he waved dismissively and smoothed out his wrinkled trousers as he walked away.
As Sean took the elevator down, he initially planned to head home.
Suddenly, he remembered Shakira worked at Lopez Group.
He called someone from Public Affairs, “Is there an intern named Shakira at your company? I want to visit her; is that okay?
Shakira and Maris were in a meeting with the team from Norpa Technology.
Midway through, a tall figure in a suit appeared outside the frosted glass.
The people in the meeting room instinctively shifted their attention. A couple of young women from Norpa whispered excitedly. “Who’s out there? So handsome!”
“And so charismatic–not any less than Mr. Lopez or Mr. White!
“Exactly! And his smile is so vibrant; it’s infectious!”
Shakira was distracted by their chatter and stole a glance outside.
Her heart skipped a beat.
Outside, Sean, unaware he was visible, met Shakira’s cold gaze, causing him to flinch. He quickly forced a charming smile.
Sean’s smile captivated the young women even more.
“Ah, he’s looking this way!” one exclaimed.
“His smile is dazzling, like Cupid struck my heart!” another gushed.
Noticing Maris speaking but unable to voice her feelings, Shakira raised her hand. “Sorry, I need to handle something.”

Chapter 314
Maris nodded. “Sure, go ahead.”
Shakira closed her notebook, stood up, and walked out, swiftly filling Sean away with her.
The young women were left visibly disappointed. One said, “Wait, is he here for Shakira?”
Another added, “I thought he was some wealthy heir; who knew he was just here for her? How does she keep getting so lucky?”
“Maybe she attracts those types, knowing what kind of woman captures their attention,” Berry said casually.
“Wow, Berry, you’re spot on! I always thought Shakira was a bit odd, but you nailed it.”
“Right, I noticed she’s close with Larry from her department. He’s usually aloof, yet he only socializes with Shakira and Rachel. Rachel and Larry are childhood friends, but how has Shakira integrated so quickly?” one said, clearly envious.
“And then there’s Quincy–I saw Shakira holding his hand in the break room the other day. Such intimacy indicates a complex relationship!”
“Ugh, Berry, do you think Shakira might be a flirt?”
Berry feigned surprise, but a smirk played at her lips. “Maybe! Fortunately, there aren’t many men here; I should warn a few
guys.”
“Absolutely, I’ll remind them later!” one agreed.
Shakira dragged Sean into an empty conference room.
Once the door was closed, she crossed her arms, her expression unreadable. “What are you doing here?”
Sean, standing with his head bowed, looked as timid as a giant quail. “Shakira, I happened to be at Lopez Group and thought I’d drop by…”
Shakira rubbed her temples. “I’m interning at Lopez Group…”
