Chapter 52
Shakira enjoyed a peaceful day at school with Yvette, Xanthe, and Berry out of the picture. At lunchtime, she made a special trip to the canteen in the east.
There were three canteens at Crescentville University, the top one located in the east of campus where students could find higher-end private rooms, complete with separate lounges and esports rooms, so it attracted the largest number of rich students.
On the way, from a distance, Shakira spotted Joe chatting and laughing with a few friends, all of them from noble families. They were heading upstairs to the private rooms. Shakira called out to Joe.
Joe turned around and his eyes were filled with surprise and delight when he saw Shakira. “Shakira!” exclaimed Joe delightedly.
His friends nudged and teased, “Whoa, bro, got a gorgeous!”
“Shut it. She’s Shakira. She’s different,” Joe retorted, leaving them behind as he hurried downstairs.
He came over to Shakira quickly and said, “Shakira, I’m so happy you came to see me.”
Shakira handed him a red velvet box directly and said, “This is a birthday gift for Grandma Martha. I only got it this morning. Considering what happened last night, I’m afraid that I won’t have the chance to visit her later. Please pass it on to her for me.”
Joe took it with both hands and replied, “Okay. She will love it.”
Then Joe paused and then cautiously asked, “Last night, between you and Walter…?”
However, Shakira mercilessly interrupted, “It’s none of your business. I don’t want to mention that. I’m only asking you to pass on the gift.”
After finishing her words, Shakira left and made her way to have lunch.
She found a quiet corner to sit and eat. However, as soon as she settled down, someone else took the seat next to her. Shakira lifted her eyes and cursed in her heart. It was Mitchell!
‘Why does he always show up right after Joe? Are they playing tricks on me?’ thought Shakira speechlessly.
“Mitchell, what brought you to school? Don’t you have to deal with company affairs? Oh, right, your sister should lose lots of brand cooperation. No wonder you have much time.”
Mitchell instinctively wanted to retort but held back. He parted his mouth as if to say something but nothing came out of it. Suddenly, he noticed that there was only a bun and two vegetarian dishes on Shakira’s plates. Then Mitchell looked at Shakira with complex emotions, which made Shakira feel a little uneasy.
Shakira asked, “Are you possessed or something?”
“Can’t you be nice to me, Shakira?” said Mitchell.
“Maybe to others. But with you… it’s tough,” said Shakira in a straightforward way.
Mitchell was speechless.
Then he suddenly snatched her meal card from the table. Shakira cast a glance at Mitchell indifferently without any intention of stopping him since she found it hard to understand his behavior, so she just waited to see what he was going to do with it.

Soon, Mitchell returned with a plateful of food, mainly different types of meat. Then he settled it in front of Shakira and said, “You should eat more.”
“Come on, Mitchell, are you trying to stuff me to death with food?” Shakira complained
It’s a new way he created to make fun of me?’ Shakira couldn’t help but think.
Mitchell couldn’t restrain himself and rolled his eyes at her, “Alright, Shakira, you don’t have to disguise yourself. I know it’s not easy to work in the Lopez family.”
Mitchell returned the meal card to Shakira and added, “I’ve put 3 thousand dollars on it. You can order anything you want at school.”
Amused by Mitchell’s words, Shakira stared at Mitchell and asked, “Who told you I’ve been treated badly by the Lopez family?”
“Hey, Shakira, you can open up to me. If not, how can you have such a poor meal?” insisted Mitchell.
“I’m very impressed by your incredible perceptions and logic,” joked Shakira.
‘I chose vegetables just because I’ve had too much meat at home… thought Shakira speechlessly.
Then Shakira seemed to think about something and held the meal card between her fingers, confirming, “You said you put 3 thousand dollars on it?”
“Yeah, it should be enough for a year, right?” said Mitchell with a grin.
“I won’t be paying you back,” said Shakira firmly.
Mitchell replied in a cause tone, “You don’t have to. It’s the maximum deposit amount, otherwise, I could add more.”
Shakira revealed a meaningful smile and asked, “Mitchell, you’re being so nice to me because you want to ask me to help Yvette, right?”
Mitchell instinctively replied, “No, I don’t…”
Shakira immediately pulled her face and said with an icy gaze, “You mean you did this without any purpose, or are you just pitying me?”
For a moment, Mitchell had no idea what to say. Facing Shakira’s cold stare, Mitchell just felt nervous and agitated.
He suddenly stood up and increased his voice, asking, “What are you doing? Haven’t I already apologized? Do you have to be so aggressive to me?”
“Yes, you have. But it doesn’t mean I have to forgive you and let it go.”
Shakira tilted her face up, her bright eyes fixed on him, the ruthlessness on her face utterly decisive.
“I’ll remember everything your family has done to me and never forgive any of you.”
Mitchell staggered back in shock since he was blown by Shakira’s decisiveness and hatred of him.
After a while, Mitchell turned away in a huff and roared, “I just wasted my time and money on someone ungrateful!”
Watching Mitchell depart, Shakira continued to finish her lunch ignoring the glances from the surrounding students who were drawn by Mitchell’s last shout,
Suddenly, Shakira’s phone buzzed. Here was a message from Cathy, who had been helping her investigate some matters since Shakira left the sanitarium.

Cathy: [Shakira, I’ve consulted a reliable master. He said borrowing someone else’s luck is a very vicious spell. It can cause irreversible damage to the energy and life length of the victim.]
Shakira: [How do they cast that spell?]
+5
Cathy: [There are three ways. Firstly, the spell can work through something that comes from the victim like hair or blood. Second, through personal items on the victim’s body, such as underwear or jewelry. Finally, it doesn’t need anything. It’s the most difficult and vicious method.”
After reading Cathy’s messages, Shakira deliberated for a while, ‘So, over the years, Yvette must have been using some personal items that I wore to cast a spell on me, but clearly, that’s not enough for her now. She wants a permanent solution.’
Then Shakira sent a message to Cathy again.
[Is there any way to break it?]
Cathy: [Well, it depends on the specific method that person used. Generally, if that person casts a spell on you through your personal items, you have to find it out and destroy it. As for the hardest one, you have to use counter-spells… I’ll send you more details later.]
Shakira: [Okay, thanks.]
Cathy: [Shakira, the master warned you to stay away from people with bad intentions and keep an eye on your belongings.]
Shakira: [Okay. I will.]
Then Shakira took a nap in the library after lunch and arrived at the teaching building at 2 PM. As soon as she entered the classroom, she saw a crowd gathered around Yvette and Berry, fawning and flattering them. Shakira’s eyebrows knitted.
