Chapter 56
As soon as those words were spoken, the expressions of the others changed dramatically. The blush on Fiona’s face turned into a furious glare.
“You- you’re despicable! Shameless! How dare you slander and insult Walter!”
Fiona was so angry that she was shaking. Shakira couldn’t help but laugh at the sight. She thought to herself, ‘I’m just saying it, but Fiona acts like Walter has been terribly humiliated and violated.
But in reality…
Shakira’s smile grew even wider, and she decided to push Fiona’s buttons even further. “It’s all true. I didn’t just touch his abs; I kissed his lips too. Don’t let its thinness fool you–it’s pretty nice to kiss. And there’s more…”
“What else?” a cold, almost icy voice came from behind her. Shakira’s smug smile froze on her face. She stood there, practically frozen for several seconds, before slowly turning around like a broken machine about to shut down.
Somehow, a large group of people had appeared behind Shakira Walter, with his piercing glare that seemed to want to shoot Shakira through with a thousand arrows; Benji, with a satisfied smile on his face; Kyle, as gentle as a breeze; Joe, looking furious and unwilling; and several other rich second–generation heirs and servers Shakira had never seen before, all staring at Shakira with wide eyes.
Shakira was shocked.
“Was the world out to get her? Did they have to show up all at once like this?” She thought.
Walter’s face was expressionless. “What else? Why don’t you continue?”
Gathering her courage, Shakira forced a smile, though it looked rather strained. “N–nothing. There’s nothing more.” “Hmm, you were quite talkative just now. Now that I’m here, you have nothing to say?” Walter said with a hint of sarcasm. Shakira quickly lowered her head. At this critical moment, admitting defeat was the best option. “Mr. Lopez, I was wrong.”
Benji opened his mouth, “Future-”
Walter shot him a cold glare, and Benji quickly swallowed his words. “Uh, I mean, what exactly did you do wrong?”
Shakira, following Benji’s lead, tried to smooth things over. “I shouldn’t have joked about Mr. Lopez. I truly know I was wrong.”
“Walter, we can’t just let this go!” Fiona walked over, trying to pout and appeal to Walter. “She dared to spread such lies and slander you in public. Luckily, only a few of us heard it this time, but if she keeps talking like that in the future and someone with ill intentions hears it, the Lopez family’s reputation will be damaged!”
Shakira rubbed her nose and muttered, “I was just trying to rile you up. I wouldn’t say such things in public.”
Fiona glared at her. “You-”
Walter, who had been gripping the armrest with his knuckles turning white, finally released his grip. “Take me back.”
Shakira was taken aback for a moment but quickly understood, switching to an overly attentive and subservient tone. “Of course, Mr. Lopez!”
Everyone was surprised as they watched Shakira and Walter return to the private room.
Calton’s mouth gaped open, and he blinked in disbelief. “Just like that… it’s over?”

“Impossible! There’s no way Walter would be interested in someone like her!” Fiona interrupted sharply. Calton and Gavin exchanged a glance, shrugged, and decided not to say anything more. A look between them said it all–better not to provoke Fiona; they didn’t want the hassle.
“Mr. Lopez, you all came out here.”
Walter gave her a sidelong glance. “What do you think?”
Shakira was completely confused. ‘What was I supposed to say? I had no idea.
There were still a few people who hadn’t left the private room. When Shakira looked up, her eyes met Berry, who was sitting nearby and looking somewhat nervous and uncomfortable.
Shakira averted her gaze and pushed Walter to his seat. While Shakira remained calm and composed, Berry’s heart was nearly pounding out of her chest. Earlier, when the guest of honor, Kyle, arrived at the welcome banquet, he casually mentioned picking up a girl who was being bullied by some thugs on the way. The other brothers had teased him about it, but Walter had remained completely indifferent. However, as soon as Kyle mentioned the girl’s name, Walter had immediately rushed out without hesitation.
Berry lowered her head, clenching her fists at the mere thought of it. No matter what, there was no way Shakira could be by Mr. Lopez’s side!
The others outside had returned to the room and taken their seats.
seats were on the other side When Fiona walked in with a sour face, the only empty seat left was next to Walter. All the othe of the room. The three girls politely went to the corner, and as Fiona approached Walter, she hadn’t even had a chance to sit down when he suddenly spoke up, “How long are you planning to stand there?”
Fiona froze halfway through sitting down, feeling incredibly awkward.
Shakira noticed everyone looking at her and quickly responded, “It’s okay, I’m not hungry.”
“I am,” Walter said matter–of–factly. “Sit down and get some food”
“Okay.”
Even though she was annoyed, she felt guilty and had no choice but to comply! It was all because of her big mouth. Why did she have to speak up right when Walter came in?
Shakira looked at Fiona, who was taking up half the chair and refusing to move. Without hesitation, she gently pushed Fiona out of the way. Fiona glared at her with pure fury.
Shakira shrugged helplessly, “Ms. Banks, why don’t you find another seat?”
