Chapter 99
The crowd raised their heads in anticipation, watching as the terrifyingly cold gaze of Walter, powerful enough to freeze everything in its path, stared at the maid outside the screen. They couldn’t see her, but they could hear some movement, as she continued to set things on the table. She even accidentally knocked over the glass that Walter had on hand. The crowd let out a sigh of relief. ‘It’s done for, this maid is definitely going to be scolded.‘
Shakira, of course, had no idea they were hoping for her misfortune. Feeling Walter’s intense gaze on her, she felt a bit
nervous.
She accidentally knocked something over. The glass was on the side of Walter’s hand; Shakira exclaimed and hurriedly bent down to pick it up. Just as she half–leaned over, she unexpectedly appeared in the screen, making it seem like she was trying to pounce on Mr. Lopez.
The crowd gasped; this maid was truly brave to provoke Mr. Lopez at such a tense moment!
Walter’s cold eyes narrowed when Shakira pressed down on him. Just as she managed to grasp the glass and was about to stand up, Walter’s hand reached beneath the table to grasp her waist. Shakira pressed against his chest again, her eyes wide in surprise. “You…”
“Was that on purpose?” As soon as she spoke, he accused her first
Shakira’s eyes widened like saucers, “I didn’t mean to!”
“Didn’t mean to lean on me?”
Shakira glared at him, unable to tolerate his snarky attitude, “Yes, yes, yes, it was intentional! If you’re not happy, why don’t you push me back down?” She widened her eyes, which sparkled with moisture, looking like a little creature puffed up in
anger.
Walter chuckled softly. “Reverse psychology won’t work on me.” After saying that, he released his grip. Shakira was almost fuming.
‘What kind of person is Walter?! No, wait, not a person, a dog!!!‘
The people in the video were waiting for Mr. Lopez to explode. To their surprise, after a long pause, the little maid left the screen, and Mr. Lopez unexpectedly… looked relaxed. Walter adjusted his expression, “The proposal needs to be redone. If Ì don’t get a satisfactory answer tomorrow, all of you can return to the grassroots.” After that, he hung up the meeting abruptly.
The others felt deflated. This wasn’t at all what they had expected.
Shakira helped Walter with his acupuncture. While he closed his eyes to rest, she checked his pulse. The man slowly half- opened his eyes, watching the seriously focused woman. “How is it?” After a moment, he asked.
Shakira placed his hand back down. “The cold symptoms are showing signs of improvement. The medicinal bath needs to continue; in a few months, you should be nearly healed.”
“Hmm.” Walter wanted to say something more, but his phone rang. He glanced at it, “Answer it for me.” It was an unknown number, with no note.
Shakira had no choice but to pick it up, “Hello, Mr. Lopez is not available to take your call right now.”
When Berry heard Shakira’s voice, she felt like a bucket of cold water was dumped on him. Upon realizing Berry was listening, Shakira repeated. “He is not available to take calls at the moment, but if you need it, I can help relay your message to him.”
Berry took a moment before speaking, “Shakira, it’s Berry. I need to talk to Mr. Lopez.”

Shakira narrowed her eyes–slightly. She didn’t expect it to be her Remembering the fleeting image from last night in the hallway, Shakira wasn’t in a good mood. “Didn’t I just say that twice? Are you deaf?”
Berry didn’t expect Shakira to be so unreasonable towards her. Angrily, she retorted, “What do you mean, Shakira? You’re just a maid! Who gave you the right to take Mr. Lopez’s call?”

Before Berry could finish her sentence, Shakira had already pressed the speaker button. Berry’s frantic, disheveled voice was clearly heard by Walter. Shakira raised an eyebrow, watching him with amusement. She mouthed silently, as if saying, “Look, it’s your problem, you sort it out yourself.”
Walter shot Shakira a deep look and coldly said, “I told her to take it.”
Berry was stunned. “Mr. Lopez, are you listening?!”
“Yes.” The man’s extremely cold voice sent a chill down Berry’s spine. She had been pretending to be gentle and timid in front of Walter, but in her fury, she never considered that Walter was listening!
