It was a call from Matthias. 

He had found clues about the mastermind, so he decided to call Christopher. 

Christopher took out his phone and answered, “Matthias, how did the investigation go?” 

He was still hugging Cecilia so she could hear the call. 

Matthias‘ low voice rang out. 

“Based on the time and location you provided, I’ve determined the general escape route of the murderer.” 

Knowing the mastermind’s whereabouts and the time he left, it wasn’t difficult to track him down.

By implication, he meant that he had now lost track of the mastermind. 

He couldn’t be certain whether the mastermind was associated with Quilton University or if it was a deliberate decoy to divert attention from the latter’s actual location.

Cecilia readily accepted the proposal. “Agreed. Once this matter is settled, we can collaborate not only on ancient manuscripts but also on stone gambling.”

After the call, Cecilia removed herself from Christopher’s 

arms.
