Cecilia understood what Christopher meant. 

She said in a deep voice, “I won’t test the Shaw family. They have their reasons for not–telling me.” 

She trusted the Shaw family 100 percent. 

Because if it weren’t for the Shaw family, she wouldn’t be where she was now. 

Christopher knew that Cecilia had misunderstood and 

explained, “Ceci, I just think you should tell the people in the Shaw family. As for whether they want to say something to you, it’s their choice.” 

Of course, he wanted the Shaw family to confess. 

Thinking of Evan’s worry about her, Cecilia nodded and said, “I’m going to make a phone call in the lounge.”

Cecilia immediately stood up straight in a standard military posture, with her left hand not holding the phone hanging on her side. Her middle finger was pressed against the seam of her trousers and she looked serious. 

“Aiden.” 

“It’s uncommon for you to call me on days other than New Year’s. What’s up?” 

Aiden was the highest–ranking commander of the 

Peacekeeping Forces. He had a lot to do every day and didn’t know what had happened to Cecilia these days. 

He was relieved to have Evan look after Cecilia. 

Cecilia secretly stuck out her tongue and said to herself, “Aiden, it’s not that I don’t want to call you. It’s just that you are too serious, and it’s stressful every time I call you.” 

That was what she thought, but she said something else. 

“Aiden, you are so busy that I dare not disturb you.” 

Aiden knew that Cecilia was not telling the truth, but he didn’t say it because he knew Evan and Cecilia were afraid of him. 

“Then why are you disturbing me today?” 

He was sure that Cecilia would never call him if it wasn’t 

urgent. 

Upon hearing his teasing tone, Cecilia felt her tension noticeably ease. 

“I can’t get in touch with Evan. His phone is off.” 

Aiden knew that Evan wouldn’t turn off his phone 24 hours a day because there might be an emergency to deal with at any time.

“I’ll call his deputy general right now and get back to you later.” While speaking, he dialed the internal line and hung up on Cecilia. 

The call was quickly connected. He asked, “Why is Commander Shaw’s phone off?” 

Evan’s deputy general inimediately replied, “Commander Shaw was temporarily transferred to Quilton and just got on the plane.” 

“Why did no one report such a big thing? Who’s taking his place?” 

Even a simple phone call exerted immense pressure on the deputy general.- 

“Commander Shaw has reported to his superior and I will temporarily take over his position.”

After hanging up the phone, Aiden called Evan’s superior.

After the call, Aiden pressed his temples and frowned. 

He couldn’t believe that he had missed such an important thing, so he immediately called Cecilia.

He had lost a younger brother. He could not lose another sister.
