Cecilia disliked being teased, especially about love.
She glanced at Calvin coldly and said, “Mr. Yates, please don’t joke about it.”
་་
Calvin, who did not know much about Cecilia, assumed they had gotten along well that afternoon and that she was easy to talk to.
He didn’t expect her to be so serious, and the smile on his face disappeared.
“Ms. Yancey, I apologize for speaking out of turn.”
He then gave Christopher a gaze that hinted, “Good luck. You’re on your own now.”

After all, pursuing someone as cold as Cecilia was not an easy task.
Nevertheless, Christopher ignored Calvin and introduced a few dishes to Cecilia.
Soon after, delectable food and wine were served.
Cecilia turned her wine glass upside down on the table because she had a psychological aversion to alcohol.
Christopher noticed her movement and a faint smile tugged at the corners of his thin lips.
Yvette was well–versed in alcohol and wanted to sample the rare wine, but Calvin stopped her.
She pouted in dissatisfaction, puffing her cheeks. “Uncle Calvin, I’m already 20 years old. I’m an adult!”
“Ms. Yancey is older than you, and she’s not drinking,” Calvin replied.
Hearing that, Yvette immediately explained on Cecilia’s behalf, “That’s because Ceci was injured at the school anniversary

celebration, and she shouldn’t drink.”
Seeing that Yvette still remembered it, Cecilia spoke up for her. “Mr. Yates, if Yvie wants to drink, you should let her try it. Even if she gets drunk, it will not be a problem with you here.”
In the end, Calvin granted Cecilia’s request and poured a glass for Yvette.
He noticed that Christopher also had no intention of drinking and asked, “Are you going to let me drink this excellent wine alone?”
“I have an international conference tomorrow morning, so I can’t drink,” Christopher explained.
Calvin was rendered speechless.
“What a liar! Then what did you drink earlier in the bar on the third floor? Don’t tell me it’s water,” Calvin thought.
Despite his inner thoughts, Calvin didn’t voice any objections and let Christopher off.
Cecilia and Christopher were not particularly talkative people. They only focused on eating.
Noticing that Yvette kept the atmosphere lively, avoiding awkward silences.
“Ceci, you should try the signature dish, The Frozen Rose. It’s amazing!” Yvette suggested.
The red “rose” was covered in white powder, resembling snowflakes, matching its name perfectly.
Cecilia was not picky about her food, but she did appreciate good cooking.
The Frozen Rose was delicate and exquisite, emitting an enticing fragrance that aroused her appetite.
When she picked up a piece of The Frozen Rose, Christopher advised, “Put the whole thing in your mouth and savor it
slowly.”

Cecilia took his advice and ate it. It was delicate, soft, and juicy.
After finishing it, she nodded and said, “It’s really good.”
“The Frozen Rose is inconvenient for takeout because the taste will be affected. If you like it, you can come and enjoy it whenever you want,” Christopher remarked.
Hearing that, Yvette looked at Cecilia with envy.
“Ceci, Christopher is treating you so well!”
After all, Cecilia could eat fine cuisine like The Frozen Rose whenever she wanted, which many others couldn’t. She was truly fortunate.
Cecilia didn’t respond to Yvette’s words but instead served her The Frozen Rose.
“If you like it, you can have more.”
Yvette happily nodded and immediately stuffed The Frozen Rose into her mouth.
“It is a lot better than what Uncle Calvin offered me the last time!” she exclaimed inwardly.
After the meal was over, she looked at Cecilia with anticipation and asked, “Ceci, can I join you for a meal whenever you want to eat it in the future?”
Cecilia looked at Yvette and nodded. “Sure.”
Despite her agreement, she had no intention of returning to eat there.
After the meal, Yvette was already quite drunk.
Calvin helped her up and said, “I’ll take Yvie home first. You two can continue.”
When Cecilia heard that, she reminded him, “When you get back, make sure to give Yvie some hangover remedy. Being intoxicated is still unpleasant, even though this wine has a low alcohol content.”

“All right. I got it,” Calvin replied.
After Calvin left with Yvette, Cecilia also got up to bid farewell. “Mr. Christopher Forte, thank you for your hospitality.”
In response, Christopher offered, “I’ll send you home.”
“No need. I will take a taxi. Also, please do not fall in love with me.”
“I’m afraid I can’t promise that. Remember, you were the one who first tempted me. Do you need me to remind you of what happened that night?”
Cecilia blushed and cleared her throat. “Mr. Christopher Forte, no one can force you to do it if you do not want to.”
“I happened to have feelings for you when you took the initiative, so naturally, I would not decline.”
Cecilia knew she was to blame, so she was at a loss for words.
Seeing that she didn’t speak, Christopher continued, “If you want to distance yourself from me, that’s fine, but you have to settle your debt with me first.”
Cecilia looked puzzled. “What do I owe you?”
“You kissed me, hugged me, and slept with me. You have only paid back one of them, so you owe me two more.”
Just as he finished speaking, he remembered something else. “No, you still owe me three more. You bumped into my arms today, so that counts as well.”
Cecilia was bereft of speech. “How am I supposed to repay that?”
“There’s no way I’m going to let Christopher bump into my arms, hug me tightly, and sleep with me, right?” she wondered.
“There’s no need to rush things. I’ll settle it with you in the future, but I will charge you interest.”
“What kind of interest?” Cecilia became wary.

“Allow me to send you home.”
“All right. However, when you come to collect what I owe you, you must first get my permission.”
Christopher’s goal was achieved, and he smiled faintly. “Deal.” After drinking, he couldn’t drive, so he had one of Skyhaven Club’s employees drive.
Originally, Cecilia wanted to sit in the front passenger seat, but the door was locked.
Left with no choice, she had to sit in the back with
Christopher.
Soon, the partition rose, forming a separate little space in the back.
Cecilia was surrounded by air that had a faint cedar scent.
When she noticed the air becoming stuffy, she lowered the car window.
The hot summer breeze carried the odor of asphalt that had been exposed to the sun, which was unappealing.
Ultimately, Cecilia had to close the window once more.
Bored, she leaned against the window and watched the scenery outside.
