Cecilia didn’t bother to continue acting when she finally talked about the matter of her disowning the Yancey family. She no longer embarrassed Juliana as well. 

Besides, there was plenty of time for that in the future. 

Cecelia said, “I’m happy to leave the Yancey family, but you took my blood for three years and want me to leave without receiving a penny!” 

Scoffing at the Yancey family’s wealth was different from preventing their bankruptcy. 

Jonathan snorted coldly and replied, “See, I’m right. She deliberately refused to transfuse blood to Julia because she wanted money!” 

Jayden added, “It’s disgusting to pretend that you’re returning the money to Dad!” 

Cecilia ignored their sarcasm and said with a smile, “I don’t care if you all want to be misers. But soon, everyone will know how you tricked your biological daughter into donating blood to your adoptive daughter.” 

It was said that even wild beasts looked after their young, yet the Yancey family would kick their flesh and blood to the curb without blinking an eye. 

Naturally, the Yancey family did not want this matter to be exposed. 

Gordon asked Cecilia coldly, “How much money do you want?” 

“Juliana’s life is so valuable, so naturally I can’t take too little. Otherwise, it’s not befitting her status at all. I reckon 20 million dollars a year would suffice.” 

Hearing this, Juliana was shocked.

Gordon was so shocked that his voice then rose by several octaves. “Are you crazy?” 

Although the Yancey family had several billion dollars in assets and could easily fork out 60 million dollars, he wasn’t about to give it to Cecelia so easily. 

Cecilia put her hand behind her ear and angled it toward Gordon. 

“What? Are you saying that Juliana isn’t worth this price?” she asked. 

“Don’t try to change the subject. It is you who are too greedy, and now you want to make excessive demands!” retorted Gordon. 

“Since you’re not up for a negotiation, I don’t want the money either. Just let Juliana pay me back in blood. That’s three years‘ worth of transfusions, so how about it?” 

Sophia retorted anxiously, “How can Julia do that? She’s still sick. Her blood is too precious!” 

“If you don’t pay up or pay me back in blood, I can only disclose the truth,” declared Cecilia. 

After saying that, Cecilia picked up her phone and sent everyone the article she had written. 

“Have a look. If the details are untrue, you’re welcome to call the police and report me for libel.” 

The article was short and concise, and every sentence spoke the truth. 

Gordon took a step back and said, “Cecilia, you have indeed suffered in the past three years. I’ll give you 20 million dollars.” 

“Mr. Yancey, do you think this is a farmer’s market where you can bargain? You owe 60 million dollars and not a penny less!” 

Sophia looked at Cecilia’s greedy face and agreed, even as she

clenched her jaw in displeasure. 

“Fine, 60 million dollars it is. From now on, the Yancey family has nothing to do with you. Even if you need to beg for food, don’t come to our house!” 

Cecilia agreed affably. “Deal!” 

After saying that, she reminded them, “By the way, don’t give me the money. Please donate this money to a charity 

foundation anonymously.” 

Everyone in the Yancey family was stunned by her words and gaped at Cecilia in disbelief. 

She was giving up on 60 million dollars! 

That sum of money is enough for her to live a worry–free life. How could she donate it? Was she crazy? 

Cecilia urged, “Hurry up. We’ll go to the newspaper after the donation goes through.” 

Gordon donated the money under Cecilia’s name instead of anonymously as she requested. 

For the first time in his life, he wondered whether his understanding of his own daughter was fundament*lly wrong. This was because it would have been impossible for him to donate such a large amount of money when he was very poor. 

Meanwhile, Cecilia didn’t know that Gordon had made the donation in her name. She only glanced at the donation receipt before she dropped the matter entirely. 

She left the Yancey family without sparing anyone a second glance. 

Gordon followed her with the documents. They went to the 

nearest newspaper. 

He stopped at the entrance and called out to Cecilia, saying, “Ceci, it’s not too late for you to change your mind.” 

He couldn’t believe that Cecilia really wanted to leave the

Cecilia kept her back firmly turned toward Gordon in response. 

She didn’t have time to go back home and apply for an official change in address, so Cecilia first used the property ownership certificate of the condominium near Quilton University to register herself as an independent household. 

When Gordon saw the property ownership certificate, he immediately assumed that Cecilia had bought the property after selling some valuables. 

Cecilia saw through his thoughts, though she was not going to own up to it. 

After handling the disowning thing, she said, “I didn’t take anything from the Yancey family. If you don’t believe me, you can go search my room. That applies to any gifts from your family as well.” 

Then, she took a cab and left. 

Gordon stared in the direction where the cab was headed, absorbed in his thoughts for a long time. 

Finally, he looked at the paper, which proved that Cecilia was no longer a member of their family. He struggled to describe his feelings at that moment. 

There was relief, and there was also a tinge of regret. 

However, when he recalled what Cecilia had done to Juliana, the regret completely disappeared. 

He went home with the newest newspaper with the disowning news covering the whole page, and everyone in the Yancey family cheered. 

Only Juliana was unhappy and blamed herself. 

Her “kindness” made the Yancey family love her more and more. Sophia even gave her five percent of the shares in

After returning to the condominium, Cecilia looked at the news and smiled. 

Finally, she had cut off all ties with the Yancey family.

Cecilia didn’t sleep well last night. After taking off her high heels, she lay on the bed to have a good rest.

She put her phone on the bedside table, found a comfortable position, and closed her eyes to rest. 

Cecilia slept soundly and didn’t wake up until dusk. 

The afterglow of the sunset outside the window was slowly disappearing when she sat up. 

After a simple dinner, she went to the biggest bedroom. The windows in that bedroom were tightly sealed, encapsulating the space in darkness. 

Cecilia turned on the lights and appraised the layout of the 

room. 

Without a bed or a single piece of furniture, the space looked vast and empty. 

A huge screen hung on the wall directly facing the door, which was intended for projecting videos. 

The wall on the left had been made into a bookcase, which was filled with books. 

There were six monitors suspended on the right wall. Some of them displayed pictures, while some displayed lines of running code. 

Cecilia sat in front of the computer and typed across the six keyboards. 

The display on each monitor kept changing. 

Soon, the basic information of a family appeared on the monitor in the middle. 

Cecilia looked at it earnestly, but she shook her head after reading it.

It was not the person she was looking for. 

She had been tracking the person for three years, but she didn’t find any clues. “Were Evan’s previous investigation results wrong?” wondered Cecilia. 

“No way! Evan can’t be wrong!” 

After muttering to herself, Cecilia continued her investigation. 

In fact, finding this person was the biggest reason why she came to Quilton. 

She had to find the man behind that accident three years ago to bring closure and comfort to her five companions who died because of her. 

The investigation went on until midnight, but there were no additional clues. 

Still, Cecilia uncovered something interesting. Someone was doing the same thing as she was. 

This was because many of the families she investigated had also had their information illegally accessed. 

She never believed in coincidence. There were only two possibilities. Either the culprit behind the accident was trying to mislead her, or there was another person who wanted to find out the truth like her. 

Either way, Cecilia wanted to know who the person was. 

Therefore, she falsified a set of family information that would be more consistent with the investigation results and waited for the other party to take the bait. 

After that, she took a bath and rested. 

The next day, Cecelia checked the wound on her back shoulder after getting up. 

The wound had healed and formed a scab after she applied the medicine she prepared. 

It would have taken less than a few days to recover completely
