The Ultimate Husband (Darryl and Lily Lyndon) novel Chapter 3411

Chapter 3411

"Your Excellency, since that is all a misunderstanding, maybe—" Butch said with a placating expression on his face.

Darryl interrupted him with a wave of his hand. "You may leave now."

Butch nodded furiously and was about to leave when he suddenly caught a glimpse of Dennis. "Your Excellency, should I teach that man over there a lesson for behaving so disrespectfully toward you?" He glared at Dennis. Anger rose at the thought of how he nearly killed the organization's important guest because of Dennis.

Dennis shuddered involuntarily under Butch's glare as the color drained from his face. He found it hard to stand when both of his legs became like jelly.

Darryl took a deep breath and shook his head. "There's no need for that. I suggest all of you leave here as soon as possible."

He did not say that because he was not angry that Dennis decided to sacrifice him. Instead, he wanted to get back to the palace as quickly as possible to look for the Holy Jade Scripture.

Butch had no choice but to leave with his men at Darryl's refusal.

Angeline, Dennis, and his men could not believe what they were seeing. Why did those men leave that quickly? However, they were visibly relieved, especially Dennis. He wiped the sweat off his brows.

'They're finally gone. I dread to think what would happen if they are still here,' Dennis thought. Then, he walked toward Darryl and asked coldly, "What happened just now?"

Angeline walked forward too and looked at Darryl with puzzlement. "Darren, what's going on? Why did they behave so respectfully toward you just now?"

Darryl smiled and said, "Oh, it was nothing. They mistook me for a benefactor of theirs, and I didn’t correct them."

Angeline was stunned when she heard his answer but nodded nonetheless.

'He might be weak, but he’s very smart!' Angeline thought.

"Is that all there is to it? I thought it was something other than that," Dennis said mockingly. Then, he remembered something. " Hold on for a minute. Those men aren't stupid. How did they mistake you for their benefactor? Tell me the truth now, are you in cahoots with them? Did you put up an act for US?" Dennis' face became even haughtier as if he was grilling a criminal.

Darryl frowned with frustration. 'There must be something wrong with this guy's mind. I just saved his *ss, and here he is throwing accusations at me. He should be thanking me instead!'

Then with a smile, he said, "If I were really in cahoots with them, I would have left with them instead of staying here."
