Donnie swallowed involuntarily and quickly fell to the ground on his knees. "Lolita, it's all my fault. I should not have colluded with Grady to steal your position or to force you to marry him. Please forgive your uncle!"

Lolita stood there, biting her lips, and did not answer him. She had completely given up all hope before that, so that had come as a surprise to her. She had become the Mayor of Pearl City and found her grandfather's real killer, and even her sneaky second uncle was kneeling on the ground begging for her forgiveness. She was filled with mixed feelings, she wanted to punish her second uncle but could not bear to—they were families, after all.

Darryl must have guessed what she was feeling and could not help but sigh at how soft-hearted she was. Then he waved for the guards and said, "Take Donnie away and lock him up for the time being."

"Yes, sir!" the guards said, who then proceeded to drag Donnie away.

"Well, everything has ended well," Darryl said with a smile to Lolita. "I feel so much better now that everything is fine. You can ask Thea for tips on running Pearl City. I believe that she would be more than happy to help you." He wished he could stay in Pearl City for a few more days, but he had to look for the Holy Jade Scripture and Yuri.

Lolita could tell something was off. "Darryl, are you leaving Pearl City?"

Darryl nodded and said, "Yes, I need to attend to some important matters."

Lolita's face was filled with sorrow. "Will you be back?"

"Of course! I'll visit you at the first opportunity!" Darryl said with a smile. Then, he waved goodbye to Lolita and left with the 12 paladins. While staring at his retreating figure, it was a good long while before Lolita could calm the longing in her heart.

As soon as they were away from the manor, the Pegasus Paladin could not hold it in anymore. "Saint Lord, please let US assist you in whatever way that we can!"

"Find Yuri and bring her to me," Darryl said without missing a beat. Finding Yuri and the second half of the Holy Jade Scripture were equally important, but he had to delegate one of the tasks to the 12 paladins.

He had decided he would go back to the Golden Lion Principality to ask the Queen about the empty Thousand Variations Box. He knew there must be a valid explanation for that. He trusted that the 12 paladins would be able to find Yuri.

"Don't worry, Saint Lord. We'll do our very best to find Miss Yuri," the Pegasus Paladin, and then he left with the other paladins.

Darryl started to make his way to the Golden Lion Principality too.

Half an hour later, he finally arrived at the border and decided to rest in a forest since it was already nightfall. However, as soon as he entered the forest, he could hear the sound of fighting coming from somewhere deeper.

Lolita's face was filled with sorrow. "Will you be back?"
