Lolita bit her lips until it almost bled. She was staring at Darryl with a face filled with shock, and she felt as if her legs had turned into jelly. She finally realized the man she had married was as profound as the ocean itself.

Darryl exhaled lightly and half-smiled at Grady. "Are you still going to deny what you've done?"

"Lolita, sadness will not bring your grandfather back. Grady has already admitted to his guilt, and you, as the Mayor, can decide on his punishment," Darryl said in a tone that was meant to comfort her.

Lolita gestured for the guards to lock Grady in jail. All the guests started to panic. At that moment, Darryl looked at them and said, " Do you have any more questions? If not, feel free to kneel before me and apologize." He smiled and continued to say, "of course, you can choose to refuse but don't ever think you can stay in Pearl City after this." 1
