At the words, Ambrose frowned as he said impatiently, "You've all been fooled by Zack, you idiots! Open your eyes and see for yourselves— this is your Empress standing behind me! She didn't die! Zack made up that lie to steal the throne!"

At the words, everyone including the captain and the surrounding guards stopped short before casting glances at Shannon.

Well… appearance and aura-wise, she did look like the Empress.

Could Ambrose Darby be telling the truth? Had Zack lied to everyone?

All at once, everyone stopped fighting and fell into thought.

"Enough with the lies, Ambrose."

Yet just then, an enraged cry sounded from the palace as thousands of royal guards swarmed forwards, led by a singular figure.

He was clad in golden robes, radiating an aura of royalty. It was Zack.

Zack had been watching a performance in the palace when he had heard about the news of Shannon and Ambrose showing up. Without hesitation, he had rushed over with his men.

Just then, Shannon could hardly contain her anger at the sight of how Zack was dressed, quaking in fury. "You've got some nerve, Zack. How dare you try and steal the throne?"

Ambrose frowned as well, saying the words coldly, "Those who lie and cheat had nothing but death and demise in their fate."

To tell the truth, Ambrose had never been very fond of Shannon at all. Yet seeing the situation at hand, he could not help but feel pity towards it. Zack had truly gone too far, not only stealing the throne but also trying to kill its original owner.

"Shut your mouth!"

Zack called out loudly at the pair's angry cries, an air of regality in his tone. "You've got some nerve, pretending to be the empress, and causing such a stir in the palace."

As he spoke, Zack cast a glance around him before continuing to speak. "Please think this through, warriors. Both parties have been at loggerheads since the few times the Empress tried to take down the Carters. If the Empress was really alive, she would never join forces with the Carters. So I'm positive this Empress is fake, she's an impostor from the Carters. Don't any of you believe her."
