He could clearly sense that as the pressure in the Fairy Slaying Formation grew stronger and stronger, his fairy soul was being usurped by the purple crystals.
"Oh, Darryl Darby…"
Prince Auten was nothing but smug at the inquiry. "To think that you're supposed to be the great Nine Heaven Sage. Do you really still not know who I am? Ho ho… let me ask you then: who had the right to use the Fairy Slaying Formation?"
Who has the right?
Darryl's gaze flashed at the words as a thought came to him and he gasped. "You're… you're Prince Auten?" Aurin had been his pupil back at the Godly Region, and was now the Nine Heavens Emperor. There was no way he would attack Darryl.
The only person who would seek vengeance against Darryl was no other than Prince Auten.
"So I see you're not stupid."
Prince Auten sneered coldly, mocking Darryl through the enchanted barrier. "I'm sure you never would have guessed that you'd end up at my mercy."
"The position of emperor was supposed to be mine, but thanks to your help Aurin took it away from me as well as getting my master kicked out of the Imperial Sky Palace."
"If it hadn't been for you, I wouldn't have failed my ascension, and have to come to the mortal world to rebuild my fairy soul. It's only fair of me to usurp your fairy soul, isn't it?"
Prince Auten grew more and more crazed as he spoke, his gaze flashing murderously.
He was really out of his mind, blaming someone else for his own incompetence and inability to take on the role of emperor.
At the thought, Darryl took a deep breath as he tried to calm himself down. "Prince Auten. I know you've always hated me, but do you remember that I'm the Royal Master? Have you considered the consequences of Aurin finding out that you've been plotting against me for so long?"
Consequence?
Just then, Prince Auten did not panic one bit as he cried out instead, "I only dared to do as such precisely because I don't care about the consequences. More than that, no one here on the Cryolet Continent knows who we really are. No one will be able to prove what I did after I usurp your fairy soul and kill you off for good, can they?"
Darryl clenched his fists at Prince Auten's retreating figure, his gaze blazing with fury.
He had worked so hard to rebuild his fairy soul. How could he just give it up to someone like Prince Auten?
No, he had to break out of this Fairy Slaying Formation.
At the thought, Darryl gritted his teeth as he bore the pressure of the enchanted barrier. He cast a glance around him, before raising an arm to cast a purplish-red fireball and hurl it at the insides of the enchanted barrier.
Thump!
The next second, the fireball landed heavily onto the enchanted barrier— yet it was not strong enough to shatter it.
To tell the truth, shattering the barrier would hardly be a problem for Darryl if he was at full strength. Yet Prince Auten's blow had weakened him significantly, making it much more difficult to break out of the barrier.
