The Ultimate Husband (Darryl and Lily Lyndon) novel Chapter 5784

As he spoke, Darryl's expression was ice cold as his gaze glinted murderously.

So many Raksa tribe members and people of the Nine Continents had died. These two golden birds had to pay for what they had done.

"Awoo, awoo…"

Sensing Darryl's fierceness, the birds lowered their heads and let out pitiful whines.

Darryl did not pay them any mind, moving to strike.

"Watch out, Darryl!"

Yet just then, Monna caught sight of the air behind Darryl as the color drained from her face in an instant.

At the same time, the ministers' expressions shifted abruptly as well.

A wave of powerful energy came exploding in their direction.

Darryl turned to look and got a fright.

All that could be seen was the seven other golden birds charging forward with the blazing sky trailing behind them. It was obvious that the cries that the two injured birds had let out were to summon upon their companions.

There were seven more…

Darryl's brain buzzed blankly, but cleared up soon enough as he tapped himself on the forehead.

Nine golden birds had gone missing when Emperor Houyi shot down the nine suns, and he had only taken down two. Of course, there would be seven more.

The seven golden birds reached the air above Darryl in no time, their eyes blazing with golden flames as they opened their mouths. In the blink of an eye, a sea of flames burst out around them before licking over in Darryl's direction.

The nine golden birds had been launching an absolute massacre outside the palace just now when they had heard the cries of their fellow birds and had rushed over immediately.

Despite the fact that the birds were not as intelligent as spirit beasts, they could tell that their companions had been wounded by this man standing before them. Thus, they launched into a crazed mission of vengeance.

F*ck!

Everyone, including Monna and the ministers, reeled in shock at the sight of the seven birds filling the heavens with their flames.

"Be careful, Darryl!"

"Duck, Master Darryl…"

Monna's gaze dimmed, losing all hope as she fell to the ground in complete grief.

"Darryl!"

The next second, tears streamed down Monna's face as she shouted toward the sea of flames, "You won't die. You're going to be fine, I'm sorry… I shouldn't have let you do this…"

Monna sobbed with all her heart, images of her and Darryl's first meeting flashing through her mind as tears gushed out of her eyes endlessly.

"Don't die. You can't die… How am I going to face the Nine Continents if you die…" Amidst her pain, Monna's voice grew smaller and smaller as if the air had sucked all the strength out of her.

The surrounding ministers fell silent, their chests throbbing with pain as well.

"Look!"

Yet just then, a minister noticed something and pointed at the heavenly excitedly.

At the words, everyone else turned to look as well. They stopped short, and hope reignited in their chests once again.

All that could be seen was a purple-red light flashing on and off amidst the flames. It seemed weak in the middle of the powerful golden flames but imperishable at the same time.
