The Ultimate Husband (Darryl and Lily Lyndon) novel Chapter 5883

No. Ninth Lady could not just die like this.

Bowen exploded with unexplainable energy out of nowhere as he cried out. He charged out of the throng of black armored army riders surrounding him, throwing himself onto Veron.

Thump!

Tyson's blow landed heavily on Bowen's back. He let out a dull hum, blood spraying from his mouth as he collapsed onto Veron.

"Big guy!"

Veron trembled at the sight, tears pouring from her eyes.

"You're going to live, Ninth Lady… you have to…" Bowen used the last of his strength to say the words to Veron slowly. "I'm going to lure Tyson to come after me, and you're going to get out of here. Promise me you will."

Bowen had thought it through. He was going to pretend to give in and lure Tyson to his side to give Veron a chance to escape.

"No!"

Veron shook her head vehemently, tears pouring from her eyes. "I'm not leaving… There's no point in living if I'm going to spend the rest of my days alone! Why did you take that blow for me? Why…"

Veron sobbed as she spoke, feeling as if a knife was running through her chest.

Veron could clearly sense then that Bowen's aura was growing weaker by the second.

"I…"

Bowen leaned into Veron's arms, smiling feebly at her words. "I… I like you. Come on now… I'm a warrior of the Raksasa tribe… How could I see the woman I love in danger and not do anything about it?"

"I'm sorry I couldn't do enough… I couldn't protect you till the very end…"

He had barely uttered the final word before he closed his eyes, breathing his final breath.

Veron trembled at the sight of Bowen losing his pulse, her mind whiting out.

She returned to her senses a few seconds later, holding Bowen tightly as she let out a loud wail. "Don't you scare me, you big idiot! Wake up, come on, please wake up…"

"You're going to pay for killing my Brother Bowen with your own life, Tyson."

The next second, Veron turned to stare at Tyson as the words left her lips coldly.

As the final word rang through the air, Veron placed Bowen onto the ground gently. She rose into the air, summoning all her internal energy to explode into the long sword.

Veron was about as powerful as a mortal upon doing so. Yet her eyes glinted with a terrifying chill.

"Huh? What's going on?"

"What's she going to do…"

In the blink of an eye, many army riders had gathered forward. They stared intently at Veron, unable to hide their shock.

Tyson stopped short as well before smirking. "What's this? Still out for revenge? Do you even have the strength for that?"

Veron seemed not to hear him. She remained suspended in mid-air before uttering a few words that rang through the night air in the palace.
