The Witches novel Chapter 17

Danica pulled me in for a hug and had a smile on her face. She just looked at me as if she's expecting me to say something but what could I say? Here I was again. Where are we?

I looked around. The hallways here are always dark although there are small ceiling lights they're just very dim. Danica and I stood in front of a classroom, some students entered the class while we waited on God knows what.

"You seem a little lost," she spoke.

I was. Will this become a habit? I just wanted to know where we are.

"I am, Danica. I don't know what's happening,"

Danica gently grabbed my arm and pulled me into the classroom. There was this one large desk that stood out, it stood in the middle of the classroom with the other desks packed around it. It was painted green and had green cushions for comfort. Danica sat down on one side and patted the other side as she looked at me.

Everyone around me stared curiously. I wondered what that was about and took a seat next to her. Some students began whispering which made Danica frown a little. She cleared her throat and placed her bag on the seat and took out a book.

She glanced at me sideways and doodled circles in her notebook right until the teacher came in. It was an older woman with a real witchy appearance, I mean she has a humpback with the whole pointy arched crooked nose with a mole next to it and her wild brittle white hair. She raised her hand to silence the class and they instantly did.

"She's twenty-five years old," whispered Danica.

"Class. I'm Routa, and I'll be teaching you everything about the perfect balance between good and evil. Between wrong and right between the dark world and the light. This place is different from beyond the fog wall, each student is currently is having the same subject but in different classrooms. I'll be your personal teacher up until you graduate and be teaching you everything you know,"

I leaned into Danica's ear, "what does she mean?"
