The Woman From Hell novel (Wanda and Theo) novel Chapter 2682

From that day forward, I no longer tried to reconcile the brothers. Neil did not contact me again either, probably because he understood that it would be hard on me. The project between Grant Corporation and Pristine Group was also proceeding in an orderly manner.

Everything was back on track again.

Today, I arrived at Green Orange as usual. When I entered the office, I saw Shannon at her place. She seemed to have arrived a long time ago, but I did not hear her come up to greet me as she usually would.

Confused, I leaned forward and patted her on the shoulder. "What are you thinking about so early in the morning?"

Shannon looked at me, her eyes bags dark. I was surprised. Sensing that something was off, I hurriedly asked, "What happened?"

She did not answer me and just fished out a certificate from her bag.

"A divorce certificate? You and Jordan got a divorce?!"

I shouted in disbelief. Shannon merely nodded at me. "Yes. We're divorced."

"Why so sudden? Did he cheat?"

Shannon shook her head, smiling lightly. "No. We split amicably. Nobody betrayed anybody."

I sat down and looked at Shannon's haggard and unsmiling face, feeling my heart ache. "Just what in the world happened?"

"Our feelings probably just died. He didn't like me in the first place. Maybe it was just wishful thinking on my part. He probably just married me back then to complete his task."

Shannon sniffled when she got to this point. She wiped away the tear stains with her hand and continued, "I thought I had convinced him to love me after so long, but I was too naive. Forget it, it doesn't matter. The next one will be better."

Even though she was saying all these terrible things, I knew she was just trying to cover up.
