Chapter 142 Belinda Gives Arthur A Beating
‘Agnes, just hang in there a little longer. Daddy’s going to get you out of that detention center soon, Arthur thought. His mind was brimming with hopeful fantasies, and a confident smile naturally spread across his face.
After all, no one could say no to the lure of money. He thought Giovani, that cold–hearted man, must have thrown Agnes into the detention center because she caused a scene at Lindsey’s birthday banquet, humiliating the Campbell family and triggering his fury.
But at the end of the day, Giovani was a businessman, and no businessman could resist the pull of money.
Arthur was certain that, with the right price, Giovani would cave and release Agnes. Once they were abroad, Arthur planned to hire people to sabotage Giovani’s Eastville project, ensuring he suffered a crushing financial loss.
Arthur had never been one to let things slide. Anyone who crossed him had to pay dearly. Just as his smile widened with satisfaction, a car sped up and came to a sharp stop right behind his car.
The car door slammed open, and a woman with a bandage covering one eye stormed out like a wild beast. Her one good eye burned with venom, locking onto Arthur like a predator about to strike.
“Arthur!” she screamed, her voice sharp with fury. Without giving him a chance to react, she rushed up and slapped him hard across the face.
“You killed my dad, threw Harry in jail, and abandoned Camila! And now you sold the house I gave you to save that bastard child of your mistress? Arthur, I’ll make you pay today!” she roared, her voice trembling with rage.
It was Belinda, dressed in a hospital gown, her face pale as death. Blood seeped from her injured eye, staining the bandage wrapped around it.
Her face, twisted with rage, looked like a ghost rising from hell. She lunged at Arthur, her nails raking across his face, leaving bloody streaks.
Arthur, confined to a wheelchair, had no way to dodge her attacks. His face was soon marred with scratches, and he cried out in pain, “Claude, hurry up and get this lunatic off me!”
Claude immediately stepped forward, reaching out to grab Belinda. After all, Agnes was his biological daughter, and with Arthur so close to securing the money to save her, he couldn’t let Belinda ruin everything.
But before his hand could reach her, a strong grip seized his wrist, stopping him in his tracks.
Claude looked up, startled, only to find himself face–to–face with Michael, one of the leading doctors at Mercy Hospital. What are you doing here?” he blurted out in shock.
Michael was there because Belinda, desperate to follow Arthur after learning he had left the hospital, ran into him by chance. He drove her, following Arthur’s car all the way to the Campbell residence.
Michael’s gaze was icy as he fixed his eyes on Claude with disgust.
Just yesterday, he had stumbled upon a scene that left him utterly stunned–Ivanna and Claude were having sex in a car in the Mercy Hospital parking lot. The memory still made his stomach churn.
The fallout between Belinda and Arthur had become the hottest gossip at the hospital.
In her quest for revenge, Belinda exposed all of Arthur’s dirty laundry: his affair with Ivanna, the truth about Agnes’s parentage, and the shocking revelation that Arthur’s driver was actually Ivanna’s brother.
Unaware of Claude’s true identity, Michael believed him to be Ivanna’s brother. So when he saw the two of them engaging in such disgraceful behavior, the revulsion that surged through him was indescribable. It was as if the very air around him had turned rancid.
Michael was a man of unwavering principles, and nothing disgusted him more than behavior that trampled on moral boundaries. Without hesitation, he grabbed Claude’s arm and delivered a brutal punch straight to his face.
The punch landed with a sickening crack, and blood gushed from Claude’s nose instantly. Before Claude could even react, Michael followed up with a swift, merciless kick to his groin.
Claude let out a guttural scream, clutching his groin as he crumpled to the ground, curling up in agony.
Arthur, witnessing the scene, was livid. He shoved Belinda aside and roared at Michael, his voice trembling with rage. “Are you out of your mind?”

Claude’s side. “Claude, are you okay?” he asked, voice will concert.
כווו,
In Arthur’s mind, Ivanna and Claude shared an unbreakable sibling bond. Orphaned at a young age, they had leaned on each other to survive. Claude had even sacrificed his own education, dropping out of school early to work and support Ivanna through college.

Chapter 142 Belinda Gives Arthur A Beating
If Ivanna found out that he hadn’t protected Claude, she would be devastated. And Agnes adored her uncle, often saying,” Uncle Claude is like a second dad to me.” Arthur couldn’t agree more.
Claude had given up so much for their family, even putting his own life on hold. Now in his forties, he remained single, without a wife or children. To Arthur, a brother–in–law like Claude was a rare gem, unmatched in all of Laystoland.
Arthur turned to Michael and snarled fiercely, “Michael, if you’ve damaged Claude to the point where he can’t have children, I swear you’ll regret it for the rest of your life!”
Michael couldn’t help but laugh, his gaze at Arthur filled with mockery, as if he were looking at a complete fool. “You’re seriously worried about him? He’s the guy your woman is cheating on you with. Maybe you should start worrying about yourself first.”
Arthur’s first reaction was disbelief. But exceptions exist for everything. Something clicked in his mind, and he suddenly turned to Belinda, his eyes blazing with fury, as if he wanted to tear her apart.
He yelled, “You shameless woman! I knew your whole family was rotten to the core! Just because I’m busy with work, you couldn’t stand being lonely, so you drugged Claude. You forced yourself on him when he wasn’t even conscious!
“How disgusting can you be? As a woman, you should be at home taking care of your family, not sneaking around with other men. Just looking at you makes me sick.”
Michael was utterly dumbfounded by Arthur’s explosive accusations, and his worldview momentarily shattered.
Belinda trembled with rage, her chest rising and falling as she struggled to contain her fury. Regret burned through her. She was blind enough to have trusted a man as despicable and shameless as Arthur.
This was the same man who had betrayed their marriage, heartlessly abandoned Camila at an orphanage, and then brazenly brought home the illegitimate child of his mistress, forcing her to raise the child for over twenty years.
And now, he was bold enough to turn the tables and accuse her.
“Arthur, I’ve had enough of you!” she shouted, lunging forward to continue their fight.
