Chapter 160 Lucy’s Fearless When Hitting And Threatening
Daniel was so embarrassed that he wanted to dig himself a hole and disappear.
Forcing a smile, he said, “It’s just some stuff between a couple. You wouldn’t get it. It’s a young people thing.”
Fraser and Michael weren’t buying it. The impatient tone of the girl on the phone earlier had been a dead giveaway.
“What? You don’t believe me?” Daniel asked, feeling a bit defensive.
Michael smirked and teased, “If you can get her to come to our house, then we’ll believe you, Right, Dad?”
Fraser nodded enthusiastically and said, “Your brother’s got a point.”
Fraser’s mind was consumed by two major concerns: first, who would take over the family business, and second, when his sons would finally settle down and get married.
Years ago, he hadn’t worried about their marriage prospects at all. His sons had the looks and the family background, and there were surely plenty of girls eager to chase after them.
But he had never guessed that years would pass, and his eldest son was now pushing thirty without even a hint of a girlfriend.
As for his second son, Daniel, he’d dated plenty of girls after coming of age, but none of them were serious or suitable for a long–term relationship.
Instead, he spent his days hanging out with a bunch of unreliable friends, living carefree while leaving Fraser constantly on edge. Just recently, Daniel had gotten into a fight and ended up with a bruised face and a head injury.
Fraser could only hope that Daniel would quickly find a proper girlfriend. Spending time with a girlfriend was far better than wasting time with those shady friends. Last time it was a head injury. Next time, it might cost him his life.
This was exactly why Fraser was so eager for Daniel to have a girlfriend. “Daniel, what does this girl do?”
Blushing, Daniel replied, “She’s a student at Sancho University of Science and Technology.”
Fraser’s impression of Lucy instantly skyrocketed. Anyone who could get into Sancho University of Science and Technology was undoubtedly among the nation’s top students. If his son could actually date a girl like that, he’d be over
the moon.
Fraser’s smile grew even warmer. “Well, since there’s nothing going on at home today, why don’t you invite her over?”
Daniel’s expression darkened. He wanted to invite Lucy, but getting her to say yes was a whole different matter.
Meanwhile, Lucy stood under the teaching building, waiting for ages, but the other end of the phone stayed silent.
Frustrated, her already bad mood worsened. She hung up decisively and marched toward the cafeteria.
It was lunchtime, and the cafeteria was packed. After waiting in a long line, she finally got a bowl of her favorite beef stew.
Carrying the bowl, she found a quiet corner and started eating in peace.
But before she could take more than a few bites, whispers started behind her.
“Look over there.”
“Ugh, so shameless. I heard she was someone’s mistress. Gross.”
“Exactly. How does she even have the nerve to show up here? If it were me, I’d be too embarrassed to face anyone.”
“Being kept must be nice, huh? Lie around, make money, and live a good life. She’s got it all–comfort and cash Am I right?”
The group of people behind her burst into laughter.
Lucy paused for a moment, her fork hovering over the bowl, but then she continued eating like nothing had happened. She had heard such rumors before and had long stopped caring.
After all, there was less than a year left before she and Camila would leave this place. She would just let them gossip. It didn’t bother her anymore.
“Say whatever you want. I don’t give a damn, Lucy pondered. She thought that if she ignored them, everything would be fine.
But her indifference only seemed to infuriate tl Successfully unlocked! ng bits of food at her–green onion, garlic

Lucy set down her fork, picked up the bowl of beef stew, and stood up. Without hesitation, she turned around and dumped the remaining contents over the head of the girl behind her. A piercing scream echoed through the cafeteria.
