Chapter 171 Invite Camila To A Class Reunion
Chapter 171 Invite Camila To A Class Reunion
Lucy felt her sanity hanging by a thread, caught between the torment of anger and humiliation.
She shoved Turner with all her strength, her hands pounding against his chest. “Let go of me. What the hell do you want?“.
Turner didn’t flinch, his large hands catching her restless wrists and pinning her against the stall partition.
In the cramped space, their breaths mingled, the tension between them growing thicker and more charged.
“What do I want? Don’t you already know?” His voice was low and gravelly. “What, you slept with me last night and now think you can just toss me aside? What do you take me for?”
His warm breath brushed against Lucy’s ear, the heat creeping into her ear canal, making her legs go weak.
Lucy’s face burned with embarrassment. “Last night was a mistake. Can’t we just act like it never happened?”
Turner let out a cold laugh, his eyes piercing with possessiveness. “You messed with me and now you want to walk away like nothing happened? And you call it a mistake?
“Lucy, do I look like the kind of guy who lets himself get played without demanding answers?”
Lucy was left speechless, unable to come up with a rebuttal. After all, it was her insistence on drinking that had led to her drunken antics last night.
Though many details were blurred by the haze of alcohol, the vivid memory of herself straddling him on the bed, acting recklessly, was etched deeply in her mind–so clear that it was mortifying.
‘No, I can’t let myself think about it. Just thinking about it makes me want to slap myself. Damn, am I really that desperate? Desperate enough to sleep with a guy who was supposed to be gay?‘ she exclaimed in her mind.
Lucy turned her head away, unable to meet Turner’s gaze. “I… I didn’t mean to,” she stammered.
Turner wasn’t buying it for a second. Last night, in her drunken haze, she’d spilled her guts, confessing it was love at first sight. He figured that was why she’d been so bold in bed–she must’ve been eyeing him for ages.
To be honest, it was the first time in his life he’d experienced something so wild. The images of their entangled bodies from the night before had been playing on a loop in his mind all day, leaving him completely distracted from work.
And now, the one who started all this wanted to walk away. He wouldn’t allow that. Without warning, Turner leaned in and claimed her lips.
Lucy’s eyes widened in shock at the sudden move. She was just about to push him away when the sound of footsteps and voices echoed from outside. Someone was entering the restroom.
Her heart skipped a beat. She shot Turner a panicked look, silently pleading with him to let her go.
But Turner wasn’t about to let her off so easily. His hand slid under her shirt, his touch deliberate and unhurried.
Lucy’s heart raced wildly, lodged in her throat. She held her breath, terrified the people outside might catch on.
The footsteps grew closer, then veered into another stall. Soon after, a conversation between two women began.
“I think I just saw Camila.”
“Wasn’t she in prison?”
“Looks like she’s out now.”
“Who would’ve thought? The star student of Sancho High School was a straight–up murderer. It’s true. You can’t judge a book by its cover. Back in high school, she seemed so quiet and proper–turns out it was all an act.”
“What good is being smart now? She’s just an ex–con.”
“She used to act all high and mighty because of her grades. Even when George chased her, she barely gave him the time of day. Now that she’s a convict, let’s see what she has to brag about.”
“Tomorrow’s the high school reunion, and guess what? George turned out to be the most successful of us all–he’s now a sales manager at the Campbell Group.”
“If Camila finds out, she’ll regret it so much.”
“Totally. With her background, she’s not even worthy enough to be in the same room as George. Oh, and since she’s not in the group chat, she probably doesn’t know about the reunion. Should we invite her?”
“Yes, absolutely! I can’t wait to see her face when she realizes how far George has come. She’ll be kicking herself.”
Then they suddenly erupted in wild laughter.
Lucy and Turner overheard every word of the women mocking Camila.
Lucy clenched her fists, itching to storm out and teach those two gossiping witches a lesson. But Turner held her back firmly, and she couldn’t break free.

Lucy couldn’t hold back her anger any longer as the two women finally left. “Turner, let go of me!” she snapped.
Turner, however, refused to release her. He leaned closer to catch the subtle scent of her hair, unable to resist its allure.
Frustrated, Lucy raised her knee and struck him hard in the groin.
Turner groaned in pain, his face twisting in agony. “Lucy, are you trying to kill me?”
Ignoring him completely, Lucy yanked open the stall door and stormed out, shouting, “You two trash–talking idiots, stop. right there! I’ll make you regret it!”
Turner thought, ‘Is she out of her mind?”
But by the time Lucy rushed out of the restroom, the two women had already vanished.
Unwilling to let it go, Lucy strode toward the restaurant with determined steps. As she arrived, she spotted the two women, dressed to the nines, standing in front of Camila, chatting away.
Her first instinct told her to march over and slap them both across the face, but with Camila and Hazel present, she had to play the role of the model daughter.
Suppressing her fury, Lucy quickly tidied up her disheveled clothes before heading toward Camila. However, before she could get close, the two women turned and left.
“Camila, what did those two say to you?” Lucy asked, her tone filled with concern.
“They’re my high school classmates. They wanted to invite me to tomorrow’s reunion, but since it’s your birthday, I turned them down,” Camila replied.
Lucy let out a sigh of relief. What she feared most was seeing Camila bullied. She wouldn’t let anyone lay a finger on Camila.
“Lucy.” Camila suddenly leaned closer, her gaze fixed on Lucy’s lips.
