Chapter 172 Turner Chases After Lucy

Lucy felt a wave of frustration but kept her cool, trying to reason with Giovani. Mr. Campbell, I’ll just grab a cab. Turner should drive you all insteadthere are more of you, after all.

Before Giovani could respond, Camila interjected, Lucy, there was a gruesome attack near a bar in Sancho last night. It’s all over the news.

The victim’s eyes were gouged out, tongue cut off, and limbs completely destroyed. She was found at dawn and rushed to the hospital, but even with the doctorsbest efforts, they couldn’t save her.

Camila’s voice was soft, her gaze full of concern as she looked at Lucy. It’s really unsafe at night. Let Turner take you back -it’ll put all of us at ease.

Hazel nodded repeatedly in agreement, chiming in, That’s right, Lucy. I know you don’t like troubling others, but your safety is what matters most. I just can’t rest easy knowing you’re taking a cab alone back to school.

Lucy didn’t know how to reply. To Camila and Hazel, she was just a sweet, harmless girl. They’d never imagine that the monster they were so afraid of was sitting right in front of them.

Lucy thought with a hint of regret, Maybe I went too far last night. I didn’t intend to kill her outright; I wanted her to suffer, to live through hell on earth. But she hasn’t even made it through the night. What a waste.

Lucy forced a weak smile, her lips barely moving, before lowering her head to pick at her food. Yet her thoughts had already drifted far away.

Under the table, her fingers moved discreetly as she sent a message to Daniel. About fifteen minutes later, his reply came through, telling her that he was already waiting for her outside the restaurant.

Mom, Camila, I’m done. You guys take your timeI need to head back to school before curfew,” Lucy said, putting down her fork.

Camila smiled and nodded. Alright, go ahead. Tomorrow after school, we’ll throw your birthday party at the Reagon Hotel.” Lucy returned her smile briefly, then stood up and quickly made her way toward the exit. Turner shot to his feet and hurried after her.

By the time Turner stepped out of the private room, Lucy had already dashed out of the restaurant and hopped onto Daniels motorcycle. Turner’s face turned ashen, and he bellowed furiously, Lucy, stop right there!

Lucy didn’t even glance back. Instead, she urged Daniel, Hurry, Daniel. Just go.She couldn’t stand the thought of being near Turner for even a second longer.

Daniel glanced at Turner, eyes flashing with defiance. He flipped him off, twisted the throttle, and the motorcycle sped away from the restaurant, vanishing into the night.

Turner let out a cold, bitter laugh. Run all you want, Lucy. Let’s see how far you think you can go.

Daniel and Lucy sped through the night, the wind howling past them. Lucy clung tightly to his waist, her body leaning forward in sync with his movements.

Lucy, feeling better tonight? If you are, let’s hit a bar and have some fun!Daniel shouted over the wind, his voice playful and carefree.

Lucy responded coldly, Not interested.

Then where do you want to go?Daniel asked.

Just take me back to school, she replied.

Daniel hesitated, It’s still early. How about we-

Before he could finish, a blinding light suddenly illuminated the area behind them, followed by the deep, powerful roar of an engine.

The car behind them accelerated rapidly, catching up to Daniel’s motorcycle in the blink of an eye.

Lucy turned her head and locked eyes with Turner. Her heart sank as she cursed inwardly, Damn it, is he some kind of leech? Why can’t I shake him off?

Go faster. As long as he doesn’t catch up, I don’t care where we go,Lucy urged, her voice tense.

ng straight for the highway.

Daniel twisted the throttle sharply, and the mo Turner’s Maybach wasn’t about to back down. Bereds Maybachzettertles, matched the motorcycle’s speed, staying right on their tail. His hands gripped the steering wheel tightly, his expression cold and unyielding.

The Maybach closed in relentlessly, its headlights casting an oppressive glow that enveloped Daniel and Lucy. Seizing the perfect moment, Turner jerked the steering wheel. The Maybach carved a graceful yet intimidating arc across

the road, its tires screeching against the asphalt and sending sparks flying.

The car’s sleek body swung into position, blocking the motorcycle’s path and forcing it to a halt by the roadside.

Daniel, fuming with anger, ripped off his helmet and stormed toward the Maybach, his steps heavy and full of menace.

Are you out of your damn mind?Daniel bellowed, his fists clenched tightly, his whole posture screaming for a fight.

Turner didn’t give Daniel a chance to react. His fist shot out like a bullet, landing squarely on Daniel’s face and sending him sprawling to the ground.

Before Daniel could even process what had just happened, Turner followed up with a vicious kick, leaving him groaning in pain on the ground.

Without sparing him another glance, Turner stepped over Daniel’s crumpled form and made his way toward Lucy.

Lucy’s brow furrowed deeply, her voice sharp and trembling with both anger and urgency. What the hell is wrong with you? I already told youlast night was a mistake. We agreed to pretend it never happened.

Seriously, are you this petty? You’re supposed to be bighearted as a man.

But Turner just ignored her words. He stopped in front of her, his expression cold and unreadable. Without warning, he reached out, grabbed the back of her head, and yanked her close, crushing his lips against hers in a forceful, unrelenting

kiss.
