They Beg For My Return (Camila Jackson) novel Chapter 185

Chapter 185

Arthur’s voice was slurred, but his eyes were filled with desperate pleading.

Unlike Agnes’s madness or Belinda’s mental breakdown, nothing short of an unending nightmare.

thur, though paralyzed by a stroke, still had a clear mind. His days back in the village were

The villagers had treated him with open hostility, and his father, Matthew, had been even cruelerbeating him, cursing him, and even denying him food and water. When he wet himself, Matthew had just left him to wallow in his own mess.

Arthur grabbed onto Camila like a desperate man drowning, begging for even a shred of mercy.

Camila lowered her gaze, meeting Arthur’s pleading eyes. Her lips curled into a malicious smile. What makes you think I would take you back home? Because you abandoned me at the orphanage, or because you stole my kidney for Agnes?

Her voice got icier with each word, each syllable slicing through Arthur like a knife.

A monster like yousomeone who’d destroy his own familytotally deserves everything coming your way. And now you’re begging me? That’s hilarious,Camila spat. With one brutal kick, she sent Arthur crashing to the ground.

Arthur collapsed, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. Yet, as if numb to the pain, he continued to plead, his voice a garbled mess of desperation.

Camila stood there, unfazed. I already told youI came here to witness the miserable fate of you and Agnes. Now that I’ve seen it, I can leave in peace.

Arthur’s eyes widened with terror. No, I can’t stay here any longer. I’ve got to get out of here. I need to go home.’

He wanted to say, Camila, please forgive me. I was tricked by that vile woman Ivanna. Everything was her fault, and Claude’s too.

But no matter how much he wanted to, the words wouldn’t come out.

Camila turned to Agnes. Agnes looked utterly pathetic, like a soaked stray dog, yet she still bared her teeth at Camila in a weak attempt to fight back.

Camila’s lips curved into a faint smile. Agnes, my kidney has been keeping you alive for long enough. Don’t you think it’s time you gave it back?

Nobody could tell if Agnes got what Camila was saying. The moment she met Camila’s icy stare, she froze and began to tremble like crazy. She scrambled backward, tripping and falling, until she ended up back in the cow barn.

Camila’s steps were slow and unsteady as she approached. Agnes/curled up in the corner, clutching herself tightly, trembling like a frightened animal- looking utterly pitiful.

But Camila felt no sympathy for her. She glanced up at the sky, which had turned dark and heavy with storm clouds. Thunder rumbled faintly in the distance, a stark contrast to the clear skies they had seen earlier.

Everyone who had hurt Camila had faced their punishment, suffering far worse than what she had endured. Her heart was finally at peace. Mr. Campbell, it looks like it’s going to rain. Let’s take Agnes and leave this place, she said.

Giovani nodded and gave Sean a meaningful look.

Sean caught on immediately and strode over to Matthew, his voice cold and commanding, Give me the key to the chains.

Sean’s overwhelming presence made Matthew feel suffocated. Realizing these people were not to be trifled with, Matthew quickly pulled out the key and handed it over.

Sean grabbed the key and walked straight into the filthy cow barn. With swift, precise movements, he unlocked one end of the chain.

Without a shred of mercy, he yanked the chain hard, dragging Agnes out of the barn.

Agnes felt the danger closing in. She fought with everything she had, but her weak, skinny body was no match for Sean’s raw power. All she could do was

crawl forward, dragged along by the chain.

Giovani crouched down in front of Camila, his voice soft. Camila, come on. I’ll carry you.

This time, Camila didn’t hesitate. She slowly leaned forward and climbed onto his back.

The group made thei; way down the winding, muddy path, heading out of the village.

Arthur’s eyes were locked on Camila, his voice a jumble of incoherent sobs. Tears and snot streamed down his face, mixing with the dirt and leaving him looking utterly pitiful.

But no matter how much he cried or begged, Camila didn’t look back.

Irritated by the incessant wailing, Matthew grabbed a broom from the yard and swung it down on Arthur. What are you crying for? I’m still alive, you cursed brat!

The broom came down hard until Arthur’s cries faded into silence, his body crumpling to the ground as he lost consciousness.

Matthew dropped the broom, breathing hard. He glared at Arthur’s motionless body, scoffed, and walked away. He couldn’t care less if Arthur made it or

not.

Before long, the sky opened up and unleashed a crazy downpour. The rain came crashing down, soaking everything in sight. Arthur lay there, completely drenched, his beatenup body sinking into the muddy water. But no one came to check on him.

Meanwhile, Sean struggled to pull Agnes along the muddy path. She stumbled repeatedly, her nails broken and her palms scraped raw from the effort.

Giovani carried Camila on his back, his steps steady but weighed down. Each step sank into the mud, sending splashes of water flying.

Giovani frowned. He wasn’t concerned about himself but worried that Camila might fall ill from being drenched. ‘This worse time,he thought.
