too late for a second chance novel (Lila and Dorian) novel Chapter 392

Cole couldn't make the final call on his own.

Lila was also aware of the aforementioned business partner. She noticed Kieran's slight frown and his frosty expression.

She quickly spoke up, "Kieran, it's fine to go take a look. After all, we've already explored most of the places around.

"I can tag along on the company visit—it'll be a good opportunity for me to learn something new."

In truth, Cole personally hoped Kieran would go, but he didn't have the authority to make decisions for the CEO.

Hearing Lila's suggestion, Cole quickly added, "Exactly! Bring Mrs. Morgan along for a visit. Jeffrey Coolidge said he'd prepared a wedding gift for you both."

Lila caught his hint and chimed in again, "Kieran, you should go."

Kieran's frown relaxed slightly. He instructed Cole to share their current address with Raven Corporation. Not long after they finished breakfast, a car from Raven Corporation arrived to pick them up.

Lila hadn't expected the company owner, Jeffrey Coolidge, to personally welcome and greet them. Then again, she realized that Kieran probably warranted such respect.

Lila's eyes widened in shock when they were presented with the wedding gift.

Wait. Who would give out a whole case of jewelry? The case was divided into three tiers, each filled with necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings. Every accessory came in ten different designs.

For a moment, Lila thought she had stumbled into a market. Judging by the intricacy of the craftsmanship, the pieces were clearly of premium quality.

Even so, she was too flustered to accept the gift. Her polite smile was a gentle refusal.

But Jeffrey wasn't having it. No one was to turn down his gift. He insisted, even claiming it wasn't worth much.

Kieran, noticing Lila's awkward smile, seemed amused.

"Just accept it. It's Mr. Coolidge's token of appreciation," he said.

Lila whispered, "This token of his feels way too over the top."

The boss didn't understand much of the Vertorian language, but his intention was obvious: refusal wasn't an option.

Kieran patted her head. "Go ahead and take it. Their annual profits from working with the Morgan Group is worth at least 10 times that gift."

Left with no choice, Lila accepted it, but the weight of the case nearly made her collapse the moment she took it.

Kieran's quick reflexes saved her as he steadied her hand and instructed the staff to deliver the case upstairs.
