too late for a second chance novel (Lila and Dorian) novel Chapter 591

A verbal promise was definitely not enough. Lila couldn't appear in front of Kieran tonight, but she also couldn't raise his suspicions.

Andy narrowed his eyes, motioning for her to come up with a good excuse to not go home that night.

Lila met his gaze and slowly said, "Honey, one more thing... Mr. Foster has asked me to stay over tonight, so I won't be coming back home."

There was a brief silence on the other end before Kieran's calm voice came through. "Alright. I'll pick you up tomorrow after work."

Andy gestured for her to hang up, but Lila hesitated, lips pressing together. Once the call ended, she would lose all her leverage, and she wasn't sure if Andy would kill her on the spot.

Andy's eyes narrowed further as he raised the iron rod over her head.

"Alright then, you take care. Meet me at Luxford tomorrow morning, and don't forget to text me when you get there."

After hearing a response from the other end, Andy hung up the phone and rammed the iron rod into her stomach. The sudden, searing pain folded Lila in half, and a wave of nausea hit her hard.

Andy, frustrated and feeling like she was no longer of any use to him, was about to hit her again, but the muscular man stopped him.

"What the hell are you doing?" Andy shot him a glare.

"Until I get the money, she stays alive." The man's voice was rough and cold, with an edge of warning.

Andy wanted to protest, but the big guy had already pulled the metal rod out of his hands.

"Fine," he spat. "Then stay here and watch her. I'm heading back to Luxford. Once I take over Moore Group, I'll transfer the money to you right away, and then you can take care of her."

Lila took a few steps back, putting some distance between them. To Andy, she was already as good as dead, and she didn't matter to him anymore.
