Amelia arched her brow as her eyes fell on Lila, who had bandages wrapped around her head and looked as pale as paper. "Seriously, how'd you end up like this again?"
Lila pressed her fingers against her temples with a wince. "My head's buzzing right now. Honestly, I'm starting to think I must've pissed off some god this month. How else do you explain why it's always my head getting bashed?"
Amelia, who had been feeling a bit heavy-hearted, couldn't help but laugh at what she said. She walked over and flicked Lila's forehead. "Since when did you get so talkative? No more superstitions!"
Lila chuckled. "My memories came back. So, you don't feel like a stranger to me anymore."
Amelia's eyes widened with surprise. "Now that's worth celebrating! How about we throw a little party tonight?"
After saying that, she turned to Faith. "You in? We can call it an early celebration for you taking over Moore Group tomorrow."
Faith blinked, caught off guard by the sudden invitation. But she shook her head. "I'd love to, but I have to head back to Luxford tonight. I have to go to the company early tomorrow, so I won't be able to join you."
Amelia didn't push, but her voice softened with a note of concern. "Make sure you bring your bodyguards." Then, she looked at Lila. "Well, you don't have any excuse to turn me down, do you?"
"Actually, I kinda do. My head's still spinning, and honestly, I feel a little nauseous." Lila waved her hand weakly and lay back down.
But seeing Amelia's enthusiasm, she quickly added, "But once I'm better, I promise to hang out with you."
Amelia kicked off her shoes and climbed onto the hospital bed, snuggling in beside her. "Then, I guess I'll just hang out with you here tonight."
Faith watched their easy, familiar banter, a glimmer of something wistful crossing her eyes. Then, she nodded politely at Kieran before quietly slipping out of the room.
Since there was someone there to keep Lila company, Kieran decided to step out as well. There were still matters with the Moore family that needed sorting.
