Too Late To Say I Love You (Gwen White and Jared) novel Chapter 18

The day before the wedding, Jared Crawford’s butler was ordered to make a trip to the Sanders residence.

The Sanders family was bustling about at that moment for the wedding. When the butler arrived with a team of people, Janice’s parents welcomed them with joy because they thought the people had dropped by to send some gifts.

In the end, the butler informed Janice’s parents that the wedding was canceled.

Janice had stayed in her room because she wanted to be reserved, but she was perturbed after hearing the news, hence she dashed out. “The wedding’s canceled? Why?”

The butler replied to her word by word, “It’s Mr. Crawford’s idea.”

“I don’t believe it! Jared told me that he wants to marry me! How can he change his mind the day before the marriage?” Janice shouted because it was too absurd and too unbelievable, “I want to meet Jared! Now!”

“Mr. Crawford doesn’t want to see you.” The butler shook his head.

Janice yelled furiously, “You dirty dog! Get lost!!”

The butler was considered an elder in the Crawford family. He had served the family for a few decades, and even Gwen, the former and legitimate Mrs. Crawford, had treated him politely. On the contrary, Janice screamed out loud at the butler before she was even married into the Crawford family, which perfectly displayed her lowly character.

Janice pushed the butler away and headed to the door, but the butler asked without a hurry, “Miss Sanders, do you really not know why Mr. Crawford canceled the wedding?”

“No!” Janice answered coldly after she halted.

“Let me answer you on behalf of Mr. Crawford, and I hope you’ll understand after hearing what I have to say.” The butler proceeded to question, “During an island camping five years ago, who bought him medicine when he fell sick?”

A flash was seen in Janice’s eyes, but she quickly answered firmly, “Of course I did!”

The butler grinned. “It wasn’t you. It was Mrs. Crawford, and you were only an impostor.”

Just as Janice wanted to refute, the butler shot her with another question, “More than two months ago, a bunch of thugs tried to violate you. Who hired them?”

“It was Gwen White!”

“It wasn’t Mrs. Crawford. It was you — you framed her.” The butler revealed her true colors. “Not only that, but you framed Mrs. Crawford numerous times and stole her credit. Everything you got from Mr. Crawford, you snatched them from Mrs. Crawford!”
