The moment she got into her room and shut the door behind her, Kathie exhaled, letting out the breath she was holding.

She tossed her purse and car keys on her dressing table before going over to the bedside and plopping herself down on the bed, spending the next few minutes, replaying in her head what the hell just happened to her a couple of minutes ago.

Deciding she wasn't going to spend her precious time moping around about her current situation, Katherine decided to remain calm regardless.

She stood up from the bed and went over to the dresser where her purse was. She opened it and took out her phone, going back to the bed where she lay on her back.

She dialed Michie 's number, patiently waiting for her to pick up the call.

"Someone's missing us already. You should have listened to me and stayed the night."

"My love, I wish I did."

"You sound really stressed."

"I am. Coming back to this house was totally a wrong idea."

"Who stressed you? Your mom? You've seen Oliver?"

"Everyone! I wished I had stayed back so bad."

"You fought with your mom? Girl, you promised you were going to be on your best behavior."

"I tried, Michie. I tried."

"Then what went wrong?"

"She found out Oliver's the father so she freaked out at me for not telling her all these years."

Michie couldn't help but roll her eyes at what Katherine said.

"She's got no excuse. If she had paid more attention, she would have known."

"Exactly!! Not that she paid any attention or cared enough to know. She almost made me feel guilty tonight."

"She cried?"

"Yes."

"Wow!"

"I know. No matter how insane mom behaves, She never shows her weakness before anyone. Didn't know she would get so affected to the extent of tearing up.

"Or she could be pretending."

"No," Kathie answered. "This was real. I think she was genuinely hurt."

"I hope she didn't say mean words to you?"

"Well, she tried to make me feel guilty for not saying anything to her. Like something amazing would have happened if she knew from the onset that the triplets were his."

"Perhaps she would have found a way to bring you all together."

"I don't think so. Mom hardly gives a shit about people. I think she was just very shocked in the manner she found out. The triplets looked so much like their father. That's why I had to bring them to you so the realization probably ruined moms plan, about not being able to flirt with him or fuck him."

"My sympathy goes to her. I hope it doesn't ruin her day tomorrow."

"She invited him so she should bear the consequences."

"Yeah, I'm not even moved by her acts because she caused a bit of a problem for me. She told Ollie I had something to tell him. He didn't want to let go. He tortured me till I said something."
