It felt like Yvette had just removed her hand from a freezer when she placed it on Xavier’s chest. He stopped in his tracks. 

He didn’t feel cold at all. Instead, he could feel his blood pumping throughout his body. 

Yvette didn’t have anywhere else to place her other hand, and she accidentally touched his face. It was burning. “You’re having a fever, Xavier,” she weakly said. 

It was freezing that day, but Xavier’s face was hot to the touch. So, she figured he was having a fever.

Xavier walked faster. When they finally reached home, Viola saw them covered in snow. She quickly got them a towel and asked, “Why did you come home so late?”

Xavier took Yvette back to her room and placed her on the couch. Then, he found her some clean 

clothes. “I’ll prepare the bath. Take off your clothes now. After you’re done bathing, you can change into these.” 

Yvette looked at his lips‘ movement and what he was doing. She thought he was telling her to get changed. “Alright. You should get changed too.” 

Xavier answered with an alluring hum. He didn’t get changed. Instead, he grabbed his bathrobe and walked to the bathroom in Yvette’s room to take a shower. 

She couldn’t hear anything as she stiffly changed into the fresh set of clothes. Then, she wrapped herself in a blanket and curled up on the couch. It felt warm in the room. After a short while, she started feeling sleepy, and her eyes started closing. 

Xavier came out of the bathroom with only a towel wrapped around him. Then, he carried her in his arms. 

When Yvette was lifted into the air, she couldn’t help opening her eyes. Then, she accidentally touched his strong arms and woke up immediately. “What are you doing? Put me down now.” 

“The water is ready. I’m taking you to take a bath now,” he said. 

She couldn’t hear him clearly. “Put me down and leave now.” 

He carried her tightly and entered the bathroom. “Why aren’t you taking your clothes off yet?” He thought
