Chapter 319
Claude hadn’t just come back for Yvette alone. He had also returned for the project that Xavier had taken from him before. Since he knew the current CEO at Lane Group was an imposter, he wasn’t worried

at all.
Mark hadn’t expected Claude to be so arrogant. Now that Xavier had lost his memories, there was no way Mark was going to tell him what Claude had sald.
However, Claude was determined to make Xavier see the reality of things.
Xavier was using his braille laptop at home as he waited for Yvette to come back. It was already 8:00 pm, but she hadn’t returned yet. Usually, she would’ve reached home by now.
At that moment, Xavier received a message on his phone. He quickly picked it up and played the message. “Mr. Lane, this is Claude. I just want to let you know that Yvvy has been with me today, and she’ll be going home late.”
.
After hearing the message, Xavier’s face darkened. He couldn’t focus on his work anymore, and he got up to leave the room. It was snowing heavily outside, and he was standing in the snow, frowning.
He took out his phone, which was specially made for blind people, and called Yvette. He had secretly gotten her phone number without her knowing.
Meanwhile, Yvette was still on her way home. Since she had spent a long time with Noah that day, she still hadn’t reached home at that hour.
It was snowing badly, and she couldn’t see the road clearly. The road was slippery as well, so she had to drive slowly.
Suddenly, her phone started ringing. She answered the call without looking at the caller ID. “Hello?”
“Where are you?” Xavier asked coldly from the other end of the call.
She didn’t realize something was off from his tone and said, “I’m on my way.”
Right after saying that, the tires suddenly slipped. She couldn’t see what was in front of her, and the car drove into the opposite lane. There was a loud crash as the car drove into a tree, and the airbags were deployed.
Yvette almost fainted from the shock, and her phone fell under the seat. Fortunately, she had been driving slowly and wasn’t hurt.
Since she couldn’t move the car right now, she could only turn on the hazard lights.
Yvette tried to grab her phone, but she couldn’t reach it at all. Without any options left, she prepared herself to get out of the car. She wanted to see if there was anyone who could help her.
Meanwhile, Xavier had heard a loud crash from the other end of the line. When he tried calling Yvette again, there was no response anymore.
Since there was a blizzard that day, no one would be out on the streets at night. Yvette waited for a long time and didn’t see any cars passing by at all. She was so cold that she couldn’t stop trembling.
Ever since she had returned to Sangine County, she hadn’t faced any danger anymore. Hence, she had told Ray he didn’t need to protect her at all times.

Now, she had no choice but to walk home alone. She figured she would ask someone to tow the car when it stopped snowing the next morning.
As she walked home, she dragged her feet, freezing. There weren’t any houses on her way home, and she remembered she had to walk at least two miles before she reached her house.
She did her best to move forward, but it was so cold that her hearing had gotten worse. Slowly, she had a harder time hearing the wind. She knew her ears had gotten worse.
After more than ten minutes of walking, she still couldn’t see anything but snow. She started to feel dizzy and couldn’t see the road clearly anymore. Then, she fell on the snow.
