Chapter 334
Zachary felt his blood freeze. It was the first time anyone had dared to smack his bottom. “You asshole!” he roared. “I’ll kill you!” Zachary continued to shout threats all the way home.
When they arrived, Yvette had just learned from Kiki that Zachary was missing. She was shocked to see Xavier carrying him like a chick while Zachary shrieked, “I’ll kill you!”
Yvette was momentarily stunned, but then quickly snatched Zachary from Xavier’s grasp.
Zachary had always been gentle and never said anything about killing anyone when he was with Yvette.
As Yvette recalled how Xavier had held Noah captive before, she hugged Zachary tight and demanded, “Xavier, what did you do to my son?”
Zachary calmed down gradually as he stayed in Yvette’s arms. He instinctively moved closer to her.
Before Xavier could explain, Zachary complained, “When I went to get the package today, this evil man kidnapped me and said he wanted to be my stepfather.”
Stepfather? Yvette’s heart skipped a beat.
Xavier didn’t deny it. “Yvvy, I know he’s your and Claude’s child, so I brought him back. From now on, we’ll live together.”
Xavier then turned to Zachary. “Noah, if you don’t want to accept it, you can kill me when you’re capable of it. For now, your mother is my wife. So, legally, I’m your stepfather.”
Noah? 1
Yvette realized then that Xavier had mistaken Zachary for Noah.
She quickly covered Zachary’s mouth and said to Xavier, “Claude can take care of Noah. Yo lon’t
need to live with us.”
“Take care?” Xavier repeated, recounting how he had found Zachary alone on the street. “Is that how a
father takes care of his child?”
Zachary’s eyes were filled with complex emotions as he stayed in Yvette’s arms, his mouth still covered.
What was Xavier even talking about? He was the one who abandoned his wife and sons, and yet, he was lecturing others on parenting now.
Yvette choked up. She hadn’t expected Zachary to be alone on the street. Even though Zachary was smart and well–behaved, it didn’t change the fact that he was a four–year–old child.
Unable to find the words to refute Xavier, Yvette took Zachary back to the room.
As soon as they were in the bedroom, Zachary immediately apologized to her. “Mom, I’m sorry. It’s my fault. Kiki only asked me to go downstairs to get a package, but I wanted to see you.” He couldn’t let Kiki take the blame.

Seeing how mature he was, Yvette hugged him tightly. “Zac, I’m the one who should apologize. I haven’t been taking good care of you.”
Kiki had to juggle between her busy work and taking care of Zachary.
