Zachary spoke up. “Mr. Septer is a mysterious person. He won’t appear unless Mom is in danger.” 

“No wonder. When we were abroad, I only heard you had a bodyguard, but I never saw him,” Kiki added. She had her own bodyguards, but they were always fn plain sight. They were easy to spot. 

Because of Claude’s special status abroad, everyone around him was affected. So, he had people protecting Yvette and her family. 

Ten minutes later, Ray appeared at the door. He wore a suit and exuded an aura that kept people at a 

distance. 

Kiki’s eyes lit up. “What a handsome guy.. 

Zachary handed her a tissue. “Wipe your mouth.” 

Kiki gulped. 

Yvette knew her best friend very well. Although Kiki was acting like a hopeless romantic, deep down, she held someone special in her heart. 

For that man, Kiki had forsaken dating and marriage, even though she was already 27 years old. 

“Come in. This is my friend, Kiki. There’s no one else here,” Yvette said. Upon hearing that, Ray glanced 

at the house. 

Zachary said politely, “Mr. Septer, it’s a holiday tomorrow. Let’s have some cookies together.” 

Ray’s tense expression softened a little. “No, thank you.” 

Yvette knew he preferred solitude, so she didn’t make him stay. She packed some cookies and handed them to him. “Happy holidays.” 

“Thank you.” Ray took the packet and left. 

After he left, Kiki said doubtfully, “He doesn’t seem like a bodyguard.” 

“What makes you say that?” 

“It’s just a feeling… It’s hard to explain.” 

Yvette also felt like he didn’t come from an ordinary background. Although Ray had protected her for years, their interactions were mostly brief and professional.
