Chapter 49
Zachary wanted to relieve Yvette from the burden of having to take care of him and Noah all the time.
Although Claude was nice, his surroundings were too dangerous. Zachary hoped Yvette could be with at man who could keep her safe.
Kiki hadn’t expected Zachary to have such thoughts.
She added, “Although my dad wants me to get married for the sake of business, the rich guys he introduces me to are usually good–looking.
Yvette felt helpless against the two of them. “All right, but…” She looked at Zachary. “I’m just going on this blind date in place of Kiki, not to find you a dad.”
Zachary didn’t mind at all. “I understand.”
He thought about the romantic dramas on TV. Love often came unexpectedly. And such coincidences were the easiest way for love to spark.
He and Noah were too young to protect Yvette. So, if they could find a man to take care of her during their time back home, it would be perfect.
Yvette had no idea about Zachary’s thoughts.
That night, after putting Zachary to bed, Yvette and Kiki sat together to chat.
“Are you going to look for Leonard tomorrow?” Yvette was asking about Kiki’s crush, Leonard Cook
Kiki didn’t deny it. “Yes. I heard he’s coming back tomorrow.”
She looked at Yvette. “Yvvy, thank you for helping me with the blind date. If I miss seeing him because of something else, I’ll regret it for the rest of my life.”
Yvette reached out and hugged her. “There’s no need to thank me.”
Kiki choked. “How are things between you and Xavier?”
“Still the same.”
Kiki hugged Yvette tightly after hearing this. “Yvvy, they say love is a debt we never finish repaying.”
Yvette patted Kiki’s shoulder gently. “You and Leonard love each other. The two of you will definitely get back together.”
After comforting Kiki, Yvette went to the guest room to rest, but she couldn’t fall asleep.
To be honest, she was very envious of Kiki for having her feelings reciprocated. As she thought about the past 20 years of her life, she realized she had never truly been in love.
She remembered that Xavier had said he would take her somewhere tomorrow.
She sent him a text. “Mr. Lane, I have something to do in the morning, so I can only meet in the

afternoon.”
After sending the message, she put her phone on silent and set it aside.
She didn’t know that Xavier was still awake. He sat in the empty living room and stared at the message
in a daze.
He didn’t reply and just tossed the phone aside. He felt irritated.
Meanwhile, the news that Yvette was alive had reached Shannon and Luke at Lane Mansion.
Shannon couldn’t believe it. “Xav even brought back her ashes. How could she not be dead?”
Luke raised his eyebrows. “Do you really want our daughter–in–law to be dead?”
Shannon retorted coldly. “She’s no longer my daughter–in–law.”
