Will was called to go to the emergency room by James, as soon as he went to work.
He was busy all the morning and he even spared no time to drink some water. However, he was unkindly treated by James. So he felt very aggrieved.
"She's only suffering from a cold. It takes two hours for the medicine to take effect. Why are you in such a hurry?"
Kara hadn't woken up yet. James was so anxious that he spoke impolitely to Will.
"Why did she catch a cold?"
Will sneered, "More concerns lead to more troubles. It's no wonder that you ask such a silly question. I won't argue with you."
"Cut the cackle and get to the point!"
"Damn it! James, how would I know how she caught the cold?"
"..."
James' handsome face was covered with terrifying coldness. With his thin lips pursed, he stared at Will gloomily and seriously.
It seemed that if Will didn't say anything useful, he would immediately kill Will!
Will couldn't stand his cold face. It was as if he had the air conditioner on in winter.
"Kara may have been caught by a cold wind last night, or she may have exercised too much and had a fever. Overthinking or fright can also lower her resistance."
"I once warned you that Kara was fed too many harmful things and her body was seriously damaged. If you hadn't saved her last time, she wouldn't have lived out another three months."
"She can't recover overnight. She should be kept warm all the time, and at the same time exercise and nourishments are also important for her. This is an enormous project and requires much patience. If you can't do that, leave her alone."
Thinking too much?
Was it because of the pressure of the college entrance exam?
James frowned and told Will to scram. Then he turned around and went back to the ward.
"...."
Will gritted his teeth. If it weren't for the fact that they grew up together, he would have used a scalpel to cut his throat!
Returning to the ward and seeing that Kara was still asleep, James thought of Will's words.
Was it because that his harsh words frightened her again last night?
Hearing the ring of his phone, he turned around and stood by the window.
"Mr. James, where are you now?" Nolan anxiously asked.
James glanced at his phone, only to find that the morning meeting was over.
"I'm in the hospital. Cancel all the arrangements for today!"
After giving the order, he hung up the phone.
Facing a group of higher-ups, Nolan roared in his heart.
What the hell was Uncle James doing? How could he act on caprice!?
James hung up and turned around to meet the girl's gaze. He walked to the bed and touched her forehead to test the temperature.
Will said that as long as the fever was gone, she could be saved.
"Are you feeling better?"
Staring at him without blinking, Kara thought she was dreaming. She reached out to touch his handsome face, but he held her small hands.
Her fingers were slender and soft, but they were too cold.
"So, you don't recognize me after a night's sleep?"
His voice was low and mellow, and his countenance was gentle.
"Uncle James, I disappoint you. I'm sick again." Kara cried out in self-blame.
She didn't sleep last night. She felt uncomfortable in the morning, but she didn't care about it. She was light-headed when she did morning exercise.
When she returned to her room, her vision became blurry. When she saw the bed, she fell down.
She suddenly realized that she was really incompetent and couldn't even take good care of herself. It was understandable that Uncle James didn't like her.
James frowned and helped her to weep away the tears. However, the more tears he wept away, the more tears there were. He felt irritated and pinched her face.
"Go and have a good rest if you're out of shape. You're crying so ugly. Don't cry now!"
