Kara really didn't want to take medicine. She ran to James and held his arm with her small hands, acting like a spoiled child.
"Uncle James, I'll do more exercise and become stronger. Don't ask me to take medicine, please."
"Why?"
James coldly looked at Kara's small hands grabbing his arm. He said in a harsh tone,
"Kara, I told you not to get so close to men!"
Kara did not know what to say.
Seeing James' cold face, she let go of his arm with fear. She stared at the medicine bowl in Libby's hand as if it were something dreadful.
Once she drank the first bowl of medicine, she would definitely have to drink much more in the future. She would never have the chance to say no.
She bit her pink lips and carefully grabbed James' little finger, just like a fawning kitten.
"The medicine is too bitter. Every time I take it, I could feel the bitter smell creeping into my clothes."
This could possibly be a reason, but Kara must take medicine for the sake of her health.
"Libby, go get another bowl." He coldly shook off her hand, poker-faced.
"Alright..."
Although Libby did not understand what James meant, she still fetched a small bowl.
James poured half of the medicine into the newly-fetched bowl, raised his head and drank up the medicine in the small bowl without hesitation.
His handsome face remained cold in the whole process.
Kara doubted that the medicine he had drunk would be frozen.
"Kara, drink it! Hurry up!"
Kara was silent.
It was some time before she finally realized that James had drunk her medicine.
Shocked, she wrinkled up her pink face.
Now that James chose to take medicine together with her, she did not dare to say no.
She curled her lips and blinked glumly. She picked up the remaining bowl of medicine extremely slowly.
Recalling that James took the bitter medicine without any hesitation, she took a deep breath. It seemed that she were in the face of a guillotine.
She raised her head and tossed off the medicine, her beautiful eyebrows wrinkled.
'It's too bitter!'
It was not until she drank a few glasses of warm water that she got refreshed.
Kara frowned, her amber eyes filled with tears and her pink face wrinkled. Although he could not bear to see this, James kept a cold face.
"Uncle James, I'll be obedient and take medicine. There is no need for you to take the medicine with me."
James did not agree. He kept a distance from Kara and said indifferently, "The medicine Will has prescribed is tonics. He told me that it wouldn't matter if I took some."
"But the medicine definitely has side effects. What if it harms your health?"
"In the future, as long as I don't go on a business trip, I will take medicine with you. You can't get away!"
Kara was speechless.
Now that James drank with her, she had no excuse to say no.
After dinner, James turned around and asked Kara when he went upstairs,
"Kara, have you finished your homework?"
Kara who was about to go for a walk with Libby stopped and the corner of her mouth twitched.
"Uncle James, this topic will make my stomach upset."
James ignored her pretending to be pitiful and said coldly, "Take your homework to my study and I'll check your performance."
Now that he promised to take good care of her, he had the responsibility to make sure she could study well.
"..." Her stomach will definitely be upset today!
Kara wrinkled her face. She had no choice but to go to the study with a stack of test papers.
Last time she entered the study, she was too nervous to notice the furnishings of it.
The study, with black and white tones, was so big, even bigger than her bedroom. There were neatly arranged books on the huge bookshelf, about a thousand ones.
On the left side outside the floor-to-ceiling window was a balcony. Behind the window were two large black sofas. Then Kara looked at James.
