Uncle's Love: My Sweet Little Wife novel Chapter 93

The sound of thunder sounded for a while, and soon, it was raining heavily.

Under the bright light, the girl was nestled in the man's arms. Her little face was buried in his arms. Her small body was curled up as if she had dug a hole in his arms. Only when she was in it did she feel safe.

The corner of James's eyes got a little red. He patted her little head gently to comfort her.

"Kara, why are you afraid of thunder?" He tried to divert her attention.

The study room was silent. They could only hear each other's breathing. James was not in a hurry so he patiently waited for her to answer.

"Mom passed away when there was thunder. Later, when Dad went to find Mom, there was also thunder." She said in a sobbing tone.

It was obvious that the wounds caused by her parents' death had been hidden in the deepest part of her heart and every time there was thunder, she would feel scared and hurt.

The wounds overlapped, and they worsened.

In addition, she was a very introverted girl. She barely told anyone and many thoughts were buried in her heart

That was why she would be terrified and tremble when she heard the thunder.

James frowned. He opened his arms and pulled her into his arms. He lowered his head and kissed her forehead.

"Good girl, now you have me."

"Uncle James, I'm scared."

"What are you afraid of?"

"I'm afraid that thunder would take me away, too. Do you think this is a hint that I will go and find my parents?"

Her voice was trembling with a heavy nasal voice.

James was distressed and tightly held her in his arms so that she could hear his heartbeat.

"I'm here and no one is going to take you away."

"Uncle James,"

She tightened her grip on the corner of his shirt, making a low noise like a kitten, and he heard it.

"I'm here. Kara, don't be afraid."

His gaze was gentle, and when her brain was in chaos, he acted as her spiritual support.

As long as he was with her, no one could take her away!

The eaves were still dripping with water, and if one listened carefully, he could hear the sound of dripping.

In the early morning of early summer, the sky was clear after the rain, and it was much clearer and brighter than yesterday.

Kara opened her eyes and quietly looked at the sky outside the window. The pleasant scent of a man lingered in her nose. She frowned.

She turned around and saw the man's well-built chest. She sat up in shock and stared at the man lying on the bed.

"James, Uncle James, why are you in my bed?"

When she got up in the morning and saw a man lying on the bed, even if she trusted this man very much, this still made her feel strange.

James was woken up by the girl's scream. He rubbed his eyes and saw her face was no longer as pale as last night and there was a bit of a blush on her face. He let out a sigh of relief at once.

"Last night, I don't know who grabbed my little finger and refused to let go."

James shook his hand and she was still unconsciously grabbing his finger.

Kara let go of his hand right away and found that his little finger was green from her pinch. Her face turned red, "I, I'm sorry, Uncle James. Why didn't you shake me off?"

Kara patted her little hand in annoyance. There was thunder last night. She was scared and hid next to Uncle James.

She couldn't remember how she got back to her room from the study.

James looked at her calmly. He got up from the bed and left her room without a word of explanation.

"Uncle James, I didn't do anything stupid, did I?"
