Under the Veil I Rule novel Chapter 149

After hanging up the phone, Kevin sensed something was off. How did the conversation with Amara veer so wildly off course?

Amara, on the other hand, felt a wave of relief wash over her. She had managed to dodge another round of Kevin's persistent attempts to talk her out of getting a divorce.

She wasn't curious about how Kevin seemed to know the divorce hadn’t gone through. Kevin had his ways and was always in the loop, but she hadn't expected him to be so relentless, refusing to give up even at this point.

Pondering for a moment, she thought about what she would do if this happened again.

Ever since that messy situation unfolded a few days ago, everyone in the crew was aware that Amara and Finnian were heading for a divorce. They didn’t know when the cooling-off period would end, but Amara had a strange feeling that everyone knew they hadn’t finalized it.

The way people looked at her when she arrived on set today was different, filled with curiosity or speculation. But that was just a hunch. What Amara was sure of was that Liliana knew they hadn't gotten divorced.

Liliana's eyes held a different kind of stare—dark and tinged with a hint of malice, like a snake lurking in the shadows, making Amara feel extremely uncomfortable.

Ignoring Liliana, Amara walked through the set into the break room and closed the door behind her.

"You two didn’t finalize it yesterday?"

Her phone buzzed. Amara found a message from Keith.

She sent back a nod emoji and asked, [How did you know?]

[Elysia told me,] Keith replied. [I'm on my way to the set. I'll come find you in a bit.]
