The more Elysia talked, the more she was convinced that Keith was the perfect match for Amara. Her eyes sparkled with excitement.
"Yeah, you think I’m right for her too, right? But the thing is, she’s still married," Keith sighed, feeling a little helpless.
Lately, he found himself acting strangely whenever Amara was around. Each time he saw Amara, his heart would race, and he had this overwhelming urge to be near her, maybe even give her a playful nudge. And when she wasn’t around, he couldn’t stop thinking about her. If that wasn’t a crush, then what was it?
Having realized his feelings, Keith knew he couldn’t just sit back because of their being childhood friends. He needed to chase his happiness, but how to go about it?
So, he called Elysia, the person who knew Amara best, hoping she could offer some advice.
"It’s all Finnian’s fault, that jerk! Holding Ama back like that. She could’ve been free by now!" Elysia fumed, her anger palpable.
Talking about Finnian always got her worked up. She spent a good ten minutes ranting about him, her mouth going dry in the process, and took a big gulp of her drink.
"I’ve got an idea." She put her glass down, her eyes twinkling mischievously as she said, "This might just get Finnian to divorce Ama."
"What is it?" Keith asked eagerly.
Elysia leaned in, whispering her scheme. Keith’s face lit up. "I think that could work, but we’ll need her go-ahead."
"Absolutely. Ama’s quite stubborn. Let me call her."
Without wasting time, Elysia pulled out her phone to call Amara, who, still awake, was cozy in bed with a book.
Elysia skipped over Keith’s interest in Amara and uttered, "Ama, I’ve got a plan that could help you divorce Finnian."
