Under the Veil I Rule novel Chapter 162

Amara nodded, and Keith picked up a piece, offering it to her.

She pulled down her mask while holding the fish stick under, and took a small bite. As she ate gracefully, Keith fed her with a pleasant smile. Their sweet, harmonious vibe didn't go unnoticed, with several onlookers sneaking glances their way.

Finnian and Liliana were nearby. His eyes gave nothing away, while Liliana cast him a worried glance.

"What the heck! What on earth are they doing?"

"In front of everyone like this? They've got some nerve! Shameless!"

A girl in a pink princess dress and a dapper boy in a blue suit started approaching. As they caught sight of Amara and Keith, eyes widened, they berated bitterly.

Those two were Celeste and Hogan, cousins in good terms and both currently unattached. They'd come to the party representing their families, not expecting to witness such a scene.

Celeste, clutching her dress, walked over and sarcastically called out, "Hey, Amara."

Amara turned her head, a flicker of surprise in her eyes. Celeste and Hogan had always dismissed her. But given the situation, their proactive approach made sense.

"Amara, as my sister-in-law, why aren't you with my brother? Instead, you're here with some random guy in this formal occasion, acting all lovey-dovey in public? Do you realize what this could do to the family's reputation?"

Celeste's voice dripped with sarcasm as she looked Amara up and down, as if she'd committed the most heinous crime.

Amara sighed dramatically, as if she found Celeste hopeless, and then turned to Keith.

Keith nodded. "Sure, let's go."

Instead of waiting for Amara to take his arm, Keith wrapped an arm around her waist. Her waist was soft and slender, and the moment he touched it, he felt an immense sense of satisfaction. He barely resisted the urge to give it a playful squeeze.

He led Amara to the dance floor where they began to move to the rhythm.

"Did you hear what those people were saying about us?" Keith said, "Some of them think we don't match at all, can't figure out why we're together. I say, screw them."
