Under the Veil I Rule novel Chapter 174

Previously, Kevin had promised that after Grace's forty-nine days had passed, he would agree to their divorce. At the time, Amara believed him.

But now, it seemed like that was just a stalling tactic from him.

Seriously, who in the 21st century still believed in such superstitions?

So, had she been played by Kevin all along?

"Don't worry, Ama. I'll make sure Finn comes around. You two absolutely cannot get divorced! He'll change, and you both will live happily together," Kevin declared, clasping Amara's hands firmly. His opposition to their divorce was crystal clear. He shot a glare at Finnian before leaving the office with Lisa.

Amara stood there, dumbfounded, unsure of what to say.

Finnian approached her. "Grandpa said you didn't cheat. Is that true?"

Amara's mind was a whirlwind of confusion.

She had thought that coming over to explain things to Finnian would lead to their divorce, but she hadn't counted on Kevin throwing a wrench in the works.

Trying to steady herself, she gazed up and said, "Yes, it's true. I didn't cheat on you. Keith and I were never a thing."

Finnian let out a derisive chuckle, a mocking sound.

Amara lifted her chin. "You don't believe me?"

"Do you really think I would?"

His expression said it all; he genuinely didn't believe her. Amara was seething.

"I have work to do. Please leave," he said coldly, turning back to his desk.

Amara wanted to explain further, but he had already shown her the door. There was no reason to linger around. She turned and stormed out, her anger simmering.
