Under the Veil I Rule novel Chapter 198

"Mr. Everly, really, I don’t think so."

Amara pushed the credit card back towards him, her voice firm.

"I've got a busy schedule these days and no time for this. Besides, I've never done any caregiving work before. What if I mess up and make things worse for you? You should find someone else. I'm going to head out now."

With that, Amara turned to leave, but Finnian reached out and stopped her with his uninjured left hand.

"Hold on a second."

In his hurry to pull her, Finnian misjudged his strength, causing Amara to lose her balance and land in his lap, her hand accidentally pressing down on his bandaged right arm.

Finnian winced in pain, and Amara, startled, quickly got up and turned around to check on him. Seeing Finnian clutching his injured arm with a pained expression, she hurriedly asked, "Mr. Everly, are you okay? Is it serious?"

Finnian was about to say, "It's not serious," but as if remembering something, suddenly changed his tune. "Very serious. You've aggravated my injury. You have to take responsibility."

Amara was speechless.

"Well, Mr. Everly, I..."

"You don't need to do much, just stay and take care of me. You'll still get paid as usual."

Finnian said this with such righteousness that Amara was taken aback. How had she never noticed Finnian's thick skin before?

"Do you have any objections?"

Seeing her stunned expression, Finnian asked. He continued to clutch his injured arm, his face indeed pale, looking quite pitiful.

Amara thought for a moment. The pressure she applied earlier was indeed quite firm, and Finnian must be in pain. He kept insisting she stay. Maybe she should.
