"Mr. Everly, we owe you big time. If there's anything we can do to help you in the future, just say the word. And let's skip the formalities, alright?"
Dorian's brow furrowed with a hint of annoyance, ready to speak when Finnian interrupted, "Dorian, leave it."
He turned to Amara, "You should go, Amara."
Amara nodded, "Thanks, Mr. Everly. I'll be heading out."
She turned and left with Keith, Dorian's eyes glued to her back until the door clicked shut.
As soon as the door closed, Dorian anxiously asked, "Why did you let her go? Even if I don't approve of you two being together, you can't just..."
"Let it go," Finnian's voice was low but firm.
"What's done is done."
Seeing Finnian's expression, Dorian remembered what Finnian had said a few days ago and the list of names Liliana had brought. He fell silent, frustration etched on his face, and gave Finnian's shoulder a sympathetic pat. "Alright then, do what you think is best."
Word traveled fast, and it wasn't long before Liliana heard about Finnian's heroic act of charging into a burning building to save Amara. For the first time, her polished exterior cracked, and she trashed the room in a fit of rage.
Collapsing onto the bed, she screamed, "What did that little witch Amara do to make Finn act like this?"
"There’s no way he did it just for Mr. Everly. He wanted to save her himself. How could it end up like this?"
"Liliana, calm down, think of the baby," Nora tried to console her.
"Get lost, don’t touch me!" Liliana snapped, pushing Nora away. She stood up, smoothing her hair, eyes glinting with determination.
"Get the car ready. I’m going to see Finn."
Liliana arrived at the hospital swiftly. Inside the room, Finnian and Dorian were talking. As soon as Liliana entered, Dorian excused himself.
Finnian's brow furrowed slightly, "That's not your concern."
Liliana stood up immediately, smiling, "I know, I was just curious."
"Get some rest, Finn. I'll be going now."
As she left the room, her anger boiled over, snapping three nails as she mentally cursed Amara.
"Liliana, what should we do now?" Nora asked cautiously outside the room.
Liliana's eyes were cold, "Let's go. We'll deal with this later."
