Under the Veil I Rule novel Chapter 285

Amara quickly stood up and hurried to open the door.

"Grandpa, what brings you here? You should've let me know; I would've come down to greet you."

She helped Mr. Kevin Everly inside, with Lisa following closely behind, closing the door gently behind them.

Mr. Kevin Everly settled down on the couch, gave a nod to Keith, and turned to hold Amara's hand. He asked her again about yesterday's events, his voice full of concern, and suggested getting her a couple of bodyguards for protection. Amara immediately declined the offer.

He patted her hand reassuringly and said, "Finn's back home too. Even though he had a bit of a scare with the poisoning, he's young and bounces back quickly. You don't need to feel guilty about him. But I must say, he surprised me."

Mr. Kevin Everly mused aloud, and Amara's instincts kicked in—she knew what was coming.

Sure enough, Mr. Kevin Everly continued, "I never expected that boy to run into a burning building to save you. Though he won't admit it, I can tell he cares about you, Ama. Have you thought about giving it another shot?"

Amara shook her head firmly. "Grandpa, there's no need for that. We're divorced now."

"Divorce isn't such a big deal these days, and you two were married first; it's not even remarriage, just reuniting," Mr. Kevin Everly pressed, sounding a bit anxious.

Amara sighed deeply, her voice steady as she replied, "Grandpa, really, there's no need. I feel good about where I am now. I don’t think Mr. Everly truly loves me. He probably just feels guilty for being absent before."

Chapter 285 2

Amara spoke up, "Grandpa, it's just not possible for Mr. Everly and me to get back together. Can't we just keep things the way they are, with me as your granddaughter?"

Keith’s words had hit Mr. Kevin Everly hard with the truth. Indeed, Amara had once shown a lot of affection towards Finnian, and he had ignored her.

Why should she have to turn back just because Finnian suddenly decided to care? Why indeed?

He offered a few more casual words and made his exit. Keith lingered a bit longer before heading out as well.
