Given Amara's personality, she wasn't the type to do something like that.
Amara gently patted Elysia's shoulder, comforting her. She thought it best to postpone sharing her pregnancy news, considering Elysia's current emotional state.
An hour later, Amara left the apartment. As she stepped out, she noticed a tall, lean figure leaning against the nearby wall. His eyes were fixed on her, and in the dimly lit hallway, it was a bit unsettling.
She was startled. She hadn't expected Finnian to still be there, especially not with such a cold gaze, which pained her.
Just as she was about to ask what was going on, Finnian grabbed her wrist, muttering "We need to talk" before leading her downstairs.
With a loud bang, Finnian yanked open the car door and somewhat roughly pushed Amara inside. He climbed in after her, closed the door, and with a voice as cold as ice, said, "You don't want the divorce?"
What was he talking about?
"I didn't say that!" Amara immediately countered.
Finnian remained silent. He pulled out his phone, and with a few swift taps, a familiar voice played from the speaker. Amara froze.
It was her voice, telling Liliana that she didn't really want to divorce Finnian. But how did Finnian get this recording? A chill ran down her spine. The car seemed to shrink, and she struggled to breathe.
"That was something I said to provoke Liliana when she was provoking and slandering me!" Amara quickly explained.
