Tiffany didn't know that Vincent was in a rush.
When he had received the message, he had been in the middle of shaving, but his face had lit up at once when he had seen her message.
It was early in the morning, and he knew that she must be standing out in the wind. He felt that it would be too slow to text her, so he had called instead.
When he found out that she was downstairs, he was ready to rush down and get her.
Vincent was usually a very meticulous person, even when shaving. However, this time, he finished shaving in a rush and washed it quickly with water. He looked in the mirror at the left and right side of his face, then left the bathroom.
He had stayed over at the hospital to take care of Anna last night. Kelly hadn't arrived yet, but Anna was already awake. She was sitting up in bed, leaning back and watching the news with her glasses on.
In the corner of her eye, she saw a shadowy figure rush out of the bathroom. Before she could focus, the figure had already reached the door of the hospital room.
"Grandma, I'm going out for a bit." The figure shot out.
Before Anna could answer, the shadowy figure shot back in and grabbed his jacket. He grinned at her before rushing out again.
Anna stared at the ceiling in resignation.
What had happened? Why was her calm, reliable grandson so excited all of a sudden?
…
Tiffany had been waiting downstairs for about three minutes when she saw Vincent.
"Mr. Lewis." She ran over to him, and when she saw him, her heart skipped a beat. The tips of her ears burned.
"You came so early." Vincent looked gently at her. "How many buses do you have to take to get here from your college?"
