Chapter 35
People who couldn’t get on Logan’s good side definitely didn’t dare offend him.
Oh, except for his archenemy–Benjamin Hathe.
Glendale had five major corporations, with Moore Corporation as the largest, essentially the leader of Glendale’s business world. Hathe Corporation ranked second.
Since Benjamin Hathe took over, it had been flourishing, almost. poised to dethrone Moore Corporation as the leader.
Both corporations operated in many of the same industries, leading to frequent competition and business rivalry, making them natural enemies. Thus, the heads of these corporations naturally became archenemies.
After Michael hung up the phone, Logan started the car. Lorraine didn’t ask who Logan was talking to as she had no interest in hist private affairs given their lack of emotional connection as a couple.
Since she didn’t ask, Logan didn’t explain either.
Logan didn’t know where Violet Corner was. While Lorraine and the kids were having fun, he entered the address into the navigation system to find its location.
After about ten minutes, they finally arrived at Violet Corner.
It was an apartment complex with several buildings, mostly rented out. Due to the slightly older buildings and their location outside the main city area, the rent was cheaper compared to the main city, leading to a high occupancy rate.
There was also a small garden and a sports field where residents could play basketball or soccer.
Chap 35
The field was surrounded by many trees that had grown into large, lush trees over time, providing shade in the hot summer. It was a nice. spot for residents to cool off.
Besides the greenery, there were also various fitness equipment, making the environment quite pleasant.
Violet Corner also had an underground parking lot. Logan saw others. driving into it and followed suit.
He managed not to arouse Lorraine’s suspicion.
After parking, he carried his daughter in one arm and held his son’s hand with the other, leading Lorraine to the security office to get the keys to their rented apartment.
This time, Lorraine curiously asked, “Why are the keys to your rented. apartment with the security guard? Aren’t you worried someone might copy the keys and break in while you’re away?”
“The toilet at home got clogged, so I called someone to fix it. I asked a good colleague of mine to keep an eye on things. After it was fixed, he had an emergency and left, leaving the keys with the security. guard for me to pick up,” Logan explained.
“I’ve lived here for a while, and although the buildings are a bit old, the security is very good. The guards are diligent and wouldn’t make copies of keys.
“Besides, everyone knows I’m a single dad raising two kids. There’s nothing valuable at home. Even if a thief ransacked the place, they
wouldn’t find 20 bucks. Thieves wouldn’t bother.”
Since Michael chose this place, he must have thoroughly checked out the security. Hence, Logan confidently lied with his eyes wide open.
Lorraine believed his lie, mostly because the thought of spending tent grand a month on the kids made her believe there wasn’t much worth

stealing in his rented apartment.
