Chapter 36 

“Kids are like that; they throw toys everywhere when playing. They’re four years old now, so teach them to clean up themselves. Buy a couple of shelves for their toys and show them how to neatly put the toys back. It will keep things tidy and make it easy for them to find their toys,” Lorraine suggested. 

After entering the house, Lorraine didn’t take the initiative to clean everything up. Instead, she taught the two children to tidy up their toys. As soon as they put down their backpacks, they began to clean

Their father had lied to their mother, 

In reality, Logan emphasized teaching them independence and self- reliance. At home, they always cleaned up their own toys. 

Their father often said, “Take care of your own things.” So the toys. 

they took out were always put back in their proper places. 

However, they couldn’t expose their father’s lie now, so they silently cleaned up the toys. 

Seeing the two children obediently tidying up, Lorraine smiled and praised them for being sensible. 

The moment they were asked to clean up, they got to work immediately. Unlike her six–year–old nephew, who always made a mess with his toys and never cleaned up, leaving it to her sister every 

time. 

Lorraine thought Vanessa spoiled Joshua too much, doing everything for him and not letting him handle anything himself. It was 

detrimental to his growth. 

But as just an aunt, Lorraine could only voice her concerns in private. 

Vanessa continued her ways, so Lorraine stopped saying anything.. 

Jaden was the fourth son. His three older brothers all had daughters, and Vanessa was the only one with a son. Hence, it was not just her sister, but the entire family doted on her nephew. 

“Lorraine, you play with the kids. I’ll go make dinner,” Logan said while heading toward the kitchen. 

“I’ll do it,” Lorraine replied gently. “The kids have played for a few hours. It’s time to focus on some writing or reading. You’ve been in charge of their education, so you supervise their homework.” 

Lorraine had heard that helping with homework could be stressful, and she didn’t want to face that. Hence, she preferred Logan to 

handle their education. 

Logan chuckled, watching his wife escape into the kitchen to prepare dinner for the family. 

Meanwhile, the children finished tidying up their toys. 

“Dad,” Luna asked softly, “are we staying here tonight?” They had never lived in a place like this before. Their mom’s house wasn’t as grand as the villa they were used to, but it was still much better than this place. 

“Yes. We might stay here for quite a while,” Logan said while hugging the children. “You don’t want to lose your mom, do you?” 

The kids shook their heads. 

“Wherever Mom and Dad are, that’s home. Don’t dislike this place. To keep your mom with us, we need to continue with this act,” Logan explained.
