Unrivaled Dragon Lord novel Chapter 42

“Beijing?” There was slight disturbance on Greta’s face as her frame shook imperceptibly.

The only people in Beijing whom Greta had relations with were none other than the Sandoval family of the capital city. Other than that, she had no professional ties with anybody.

Maxwell was seated in the office chair and a vague darkness flash in his depthless and calm eyes…

“I got it.” Greta was clam on the surface but she was restless underneath her facade. She looked like she was in a dilemma.

Should she go for it?

“Greta, this is definitely a trap. Don’t go.” Harriet furrowed here eyebrows as she warned Greta. She had a feeling that this night banquet was specially organized by the Sandoval family of the capital city in order to lure Greta in.

“Should I go or not?” Greta turned her gaze onto Maxwell as she asked him.

Maxwell froze briefly as a mild shock registered on his face. He sure didn’t expect Greta to consult his opinion. After giving it some thought, he replied, “Will there be any difference if you choose to go or be absent?”

She couldn’t run away from what was coming anyway.

“You’re right,” Greta nodded slightly and she answered with determination, “I’ll go.”

At that moment, in Ocean City, a jet black BMW was speeding on the roads. There was a fleet of black cars surrounding the BMW as they swarmed in a single direction. The cars were filled with men wearing black clothes. They were the bodyguards responsible for the safety of the guest in the BMW.

It was hard to imagine what kind of big shot could warrant such security of outrageous proportions in the whole Ocean City. Even if there were government officials sitting inside that car, they wouldn’t need a massive troop of bodyguards to accompany them on their trip.

In the BMW, there was a good-looking young man in the modified yet luxurious interior of the car. He was dangling a Cuban cigar with smoke slowly rising from the tip. A fascinating aroma was circulating inside the car.

On the side, a man was popping some champagne for this young man as he then poured the contents into a goblet. This man was being very meticulous and careful in carrying out his task. There wasn’t any sign of carelessness in his motions.

It was hard to imagine this man was the same terrifying beast that had kicked up a storm overseas. At this moment, he was more like an obedient cat in front of this young man.

This man was someone both Maxwell and Greta were familiar with. He was none other than Hal, who was plotting to bring harm to them!

However, Hal had lost his upper hand. He had lost his greatest backer. To get his revenge, he had no choice but to rely on this young man right in front of his eyes.

“This is interesting… really interesting…” In the modified yet luxurious interior of the car, the natural aromatherapy was merging with the faint fragrance of the Cuban cigar, creating an intoxicating olfactory explosion.

The young man began to say something, and a glint of interest appeared in his cool eyes.

“Hal, is it true that Greta was engaged to a man a few months ago, and that man is a good-for-nothing?” The young man asked meaningfully.

“That’s correct.” Hal nodded, “Three months ago, the Sandoval family had announced that Greta was going to marry a guy, and they were not holding any public wedding ceremony. The resourceful media couldn’t even get any hint on the identity of her fiancé.”

“It was until a while ago that I came into contact with her fiancé, but I still could not grasp his identity.”

Hal slowly explained with a grin on his face. There was an unnoticeable calmness deep within his eyes.

“You’ve done a great job, Hal. You can be rest assured that when I take back that woman, I will fulfil any conditions you state.” The young man curled the corner of his lips, and his tone became arrogant.

“Thank you, Young Master Sandoval.” Hal smiled at him in response.

“You don’t need to thank me. My purpose of coming here from Beijing is to get her under my commands.” The young man replied nonchalantly.

“I know Greta very well. She is very quick-tempered.”

The young man looked undisturbed. He had seen too many women with a bad temper. They were always plastering this innocent and prideful facade all over themselves but in the end, he would always tear off this facade and reveal their true lecherous personality hidden underneath their skins.

Due to his status and position, too many women wanted to suck up to him, even though they needed to sacrifice their bodies and get on his bed.

A demure campus belle, a CEO goddess, the daughter of a rich family; these are the women he had laid eyes on. In his opinion, these women were nothing more than playthings in the palm of his hand.

The same logic should apply to that woman from the Sandoval Group.

“Wild horses exist for men to dominate them.” The young man revealed a faint smile while locking eyes with Hal. A faint yet meaningful curl appeared at the corner of Hal’s lips.

He was right. Even though that man’s background was terrifying, Greta would always be part of the Sandoval family. He didn’t have any right to meddle in their business in the end.

Hal looked at the young man in front of him with admiration. He was giving this young man all of his respect just because… he’s from Beijing!

He addressed the young man as Young Master Sandoval solely because he was here in Ocean City for the sake of the Sandoval Group!

“Young Master Sandoval, let me wish you success in advance.” Hal flashed a slight smile as he raised his goblet.

“When all is said and done, I will make sure the YH Group makes its return.” The young man toasted to Hal with his own goblet before taking a sip of champagne. He looked eerily relaxed… as if he could already see the outcome of everything.

He had heard that the woman was quite a looker. He could probably have a good time with her for a while.

Maxwell was standing in front of the door to the office; his cheek was brimming red with a fresh five-fingered imprint. He was being shunned from Greta’s office an hour ago.

This was because when Greta came back to her senses, she realized that Maxwell was smoking nonchalantly in her office. He had crossed over her limits.

Therefore, Maxwell was driven out of the office miserably.

However, Maxwell looked like he wasn’t fazed by Greta’s slap at all. He continued to stand in front of her door for a long time with a relaxed expression on his face, which invited strange looks from other employees passing by him.

After a long time, the door to the office finally opened. A gorgeous beauty emerged from the office and this prompted Maxwell to flash a mischievous smile.

“Harriet, how did it go?” Maxwell implored.

“We were just discussing some company matters. Recently, we didn’t have a lot of business dealings, so I’m pretty free.” Harriet replied. “What are you going to do tonight?”

“What choices do I have? My wife is going to the banquet, so of course I have to accompany her.” Maxwell froze for one second before replying.

“You’re going with her?” Harriet asked with a smile. “Don’t you plan to bring me along?”
