Young Master Sandoval was the centre of attention at the banquet tonight.
Greta got a glimpse of Young Master Sandoval, and she was suddenly feeling nervous.
While facing him, Greta was surprisingly lacking confidence. She was besieged by anxiety.
“Don’t worry. Everything will be fine.” Maxwell slowly opened his mouth. He was able to sense Greta’s nervousness.
Greta cocked her head sideways and gave him a stare. This was in the dark about her relationship with Young Master Sandoval, so naturally he wouldn’t know how precarious of a position she was in by attending this banquet.
He could spout these words because he was unaware of the lurking dangers nearby her. Greta suddenly felt regretful.
The members of the media were all present here as important guests since almost most of the prominent figures in Ocean City were attending this banquet.
If something were to happen… Greta glared at Maxwell and said with a threatening tone, “If you kick up some trouble again today, be prepared to be punished.”
Maxwell froze for one moment before smiling awkwardly. Damn it… was Greta anticipating that something would happen later? She was bracing herself for it.
“President Greta, long time no see.” Suddenly, there was a figure approaching them. Maxwell and Greta both turned around and saw a plump middle-aged man walking over with a passionate smile on his face.
Greta knitted her eyebrows as she couldn’t recognize this middle-aged man. She had no memories of ever meeting him at all.
“You are…” Greta asked with hesitation.
“I’m the president of Infinity Investment Group. President Greta, we exchanged a few words in a charity dinner six months ago. I can’t believe you’re here today.” There was a fire in that middle-aged man’s eyes as he stared greedily at Greta. Greta was wearing a figure-hugging dress which brought out her voluptuous figure and punctuated her sexiness. She was indeed one of a kind.
Greta nodded as she recalled her encounter with him, “President Thomas, it’s been a while.”
The two of them bantered briefly and suddenly, President Thomas’ gaze fell upon someone’s back not far away. His gaze had stopped at Maxwell’s back. He pointed at him while asking, “President Greta, this person is…”
Greta followed his finger and saw that Maxwell was standing next to a catering table while holding a plate of dessert. He was wolfing down the food, looking crude and unruly.
Greta’s intricate features were overshadowed by a grimace. This banquet hall was decorated luxuriously, and the people who attended were all big shots who knew how to carry themselves well. This place resembled a high-class society.
In contrast, Maxwell was oblivious of this as he didn’t care about his image at all. He was bringing shame to her name!
Maxwell was still devouring the food without any signs of stopping soon. Thinking that it would be a waste to not eat those delicacy, he continued to dig into them.
Suddenly, Maxwell shivered all over as he felt a chill running down his spine.
Maxwell turned around while wiping off his oily hands on his pants. He saw that Greta and President Thomas were looking at him. Greta answered coldly, “He’s my driver.”
Maxwell displayed an embarrassed smile while President Thomas was looking down on him disdainfully, “President Greta, I think you should give some training to your driver…”
“Understood, I will definitely train him soon.” Greta replied while casting an unfriendly glance at Maxwell.
President Thomas and Greta continued their conversation for a little more while before Greta ended their conversation. Immediately, there were many distinguished guests who came one after another to hit on her, which included the presidents of listed companies, government officials of Ocean City as well as the descendants of noble and rich families. These people were engulfed in a passionate fire as they were entranced by Greta’s charisma.
Of course, Greta was having no problems bantering with these people. She never went deep into their exchanges, but still maintained a good rapport with then. She was very elegant.
Compared to Greta, Maxwell was disgrace of a presence there. Most of the big shots were giving him the cold shoulders as they looked at him with disdain.
They couldn’t figure out how this shabby-looking and uneducated man was able to slip into the hall.
Greta maintained a distance with Maxwell in the hall, pretending not to know him at all. She was trying here best to avoid making the headlines tomorrow for all the wrong reasons.
