"Sure." Elinor was pleasant. Then Kaliyah sat beside her, added more dishes and looked at her. "Why did you have lunch with your ex."
"It's a long story-"
Elinor drawled, scratching her hair irritably. "I'll chat with you alone later. Why did you go shopping with Samuel together?"
Samuel was irritable. "She can't get herself a friend to accompany her, so she called my mom. My mom asked me to go shopping with her."
"Your parents know each other..."
"Yeah, our mothers are good friends." He rolled his eyes heavenward. "Otherwise, I won't accompany her. I never go shopping with women."
"Oh, Do I have to feel honorable?"
Kaliyah retorted him. "You don't go shopping with women because you have too many girlfriends. If one finds out that you go shopping with another one, you're done."
He fell into the silence for a while, and finally admitted, "How did you guess that?"
Like attracts like.
Elinor and Kaliyah looked at each other and then shook their heads. "You'll pay for it sooner or later."
Rutledge laughed aside, and Kaliyah waved at him. "Hello, you look familiar."
