"Wow, Jacob is with Maria Davis. He doesn't want me anymore!" Lamia cried even more sadly after saying that.
Cordelia didn't know Maria, but she already understood the matter.
"Lamia, you are such good, and there are so many excellent men for you to choose from. Why do you have to like him?" Cordelia persuaded her in earnest.
"Because I like Jacob. I have liked him since I was 18 and knew what liking is.
"I have loved him for so many years, but he is with someone else," Lamia said, tears streaming down her face.
Cordelia was stunned for a moment.
Seeing her crying so much, Cordelia wiped her tears and said, "Yeah. It is a cool thing to be with someone you like.
"But life often backfires. The person you like may not necessarily like you, and he may not like you for the rest of his life. Have you ever thought about this problem?"
Lamia stopped crying immediately.
After a long time, she said, "Are you talking about yourself?"
Cordelia's eyes dimmed, but still admitted, "Yes, I'm talking about myself."
Lamia snorted coldly, "I already knew your secret."
Cordelia lowered her head but still did not deny her.
This time, Lamia got excited instead. "Cordelia, it is better not to be too whimsical. Otherwise, you are easy to be disappointed."
At the same time, Lamia added in her mind, "Jacob doesn't even like me. Can he like you, a divorced one?"
But Cordelia didn't realize that Lamia had misunderstood, and she was still immersed in her feelings.
"Yeah, I'm just whimsical." Cordelia laughed at herself.
Seeing that Cordelia's mood was not good anymore, Lamia felt slightly better.
She put her arm around Cordelia's shoulders. "We are the same. Cordelia, let me treat you to dinner tonight!"
